1. BioWare: Anthem
BioWare has launched Mass Effect: Andromeda which failed to live up to the expectations, but to make up for it, they will release Anthem. This is their last chance to prove their word, so this game will most likely be awesome. It is now or never for BioWare. Anthem will start with sales on February 22, 2019.
2. Days Gone
In the post-apocalyptic world, you will have a chance to explore and fight the zombies which are called Freakers in this game. Days Gone is not just another zombie game, it is much more than that. The release date is February 22, 2019.
3. Metro: Exodus
Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light is something you should have already played. If not, you don’t have a lot of time to catch up, with the new Metro: Exodus coming out in 2019. You will no longer be confined to the subway tunnels as the new game provides the semi-open world with massive levels. The game arrives on February 22, 2019.
4. The Division 2
Ubisoft’s The Division was a solid multiplayer shooter, and with the second part, they want to make it bigger, better and much more polished. Will they manage to solve all of the problems? We will find out once the game is out sometime in 2019.
5. The Devil May Cry
Devil May Cry will return to the basics with the new game, which will be considered to be a true sequel to the series. The game will star Nero as well as Dante, which are two reasons why we cannot wait for the next installment to come out. According to Capcom, the game should go on sale before April 2019.
6. Fire Emblem
Nintendo has managed to push it strategy franchise towards the mainstream, which means that major changes occurred. In Fire Emblem: Three Houses, magic spells and attacks are separate options, and your character will no longer fight alone. The new game will have a story that is split into the three sections, which can be puzzled out of the title.
7. Pokemon
Nintendo wants to launch a brand new Pokemon role-playing game. The release date is not known but the second half of 2019 seems quite possible. All the Pokemon fans must be thrilled.
8. Psychonauts 2
Psychonauts may not feature the best graphics, but there is something special about this game. The characters in the game are memorable, so you better prepare for the Psychonauts 2that will arrive sometime in 2019.
9. Wasteland 3
Unlike the Fallout that combines role-playing games with first-person shooting, the Wasteland 3 will feature top-down perspective and turn-based tactical combat. “It seems like a good time to drop the mic,” Brian Fargo, Developer InXile’s boss says, so get excited.
10. In the Valley of the Gods
Newly developed studio Campo Santo launched Firewatch in 2019, and they hit the right tone with the fans and critics. Can they surprise us with another game? We are all patiently waiting for In the Valley of the Gods.
11. Session
Skateboarding games attract only the true skateboarding fans, and it has been a while since we had a good game. There are some examples such as OlliOlli, but we cannot wait to see what Session has in store for us.
12. Cyberpunk 2077
This game is my personal favorite, and it is going to destroy the competition. The RPG game set in the urban open world will allow you to create your own story. Check out the 40+ minute gameplay if you don’t trust us.
13. The Blackout Club
Are you getting scared easily? If the answer is “yes” then perhaps this game is not for you. The Blackout Club, a four-player co-op adventure will most likely remind you of Stranger Things when you first see it, but we can just assume what this game will offer when it comes out.
14. The Surge 2
The Surge 2 will follow its predecessor, and you will be able to gather weapons, drones and other add-ons and customize your warrior. The Surge was a surprise when it came out, but it is time for the next installment to raise the stakes.
15. Skull & Bones
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is one of the best Assassin’s Creed games, and its naval battles were the most entertaining part about it. Now, Ubisoft is giving this section a new game called Skull & Bones. If you find Sea of Thieves cartoony, this is the right game for you.
16. Unsung Story
Tactical role-playing games used to be on the margin, but they are making it into the mainstream. The new title is scheduled for 2019 – Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians. It is created by Yasumi Matsuno and trust us – this guy knows what he is doing.
17. Shenmue III
Players loved different aspects of this game and attention to details was one of them. At first, the series creator Yu Suzuki had visions which exceeded the funds raised on Kickstarter, but they are collecting more to improve Shenmue III. Hopefully, this game will be as we expect it to be once it arrives.
18. Rage 2
Rage was a nice game, looking a lot like Mad Max, but it had room for improvement. In the meantime, publisher Bethesda has been on a hot streak with games such as Wolfenstein: The New Order and DOOM. They decided to give it a go and upgrade Rage, meaning that Rage 2 will hit the stores next year.
19. Indivisible
Zero Lab will try to create a game that will compete against the likes of Mortal Kombat, Tekken and Super Smash Bros. Their new game is called Indivisible, which is an action role-playing game, rather than a fighting title. Will it be able to attract attention once it comes out?
20. Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 2 brings us back to Raccoon City and just like its predecessor; it will have two separate but connected campaigns. However, the new game will be much more challenging but also more enjoyable.
21. Kingdom Hearts III
The exact release date of Kingdom Hearts III is January 25, 2019. It has been a long time before the previous game, and the fans already replaced it with some other game to pass the time. However, there are a few more months to go, and we will get the game everyone loved. Just be patient and let’s countdown together.
22. Crackdown 3
The Crackdown 3 should have come out in 2018, but the official release date is now February 22, 2019. In this game, you will topple criminal organizations, but this time around the crime bosses will be ready for you.
23. Trails Rising
We all love to watch people riding their bikes doing all kinds of stunts. Now it is time to translate that onto the computer screen as the new game called Trails Rising will be revealed in February next year.
24. Dead or Alive
Dead or Alive has focused more on its characters, but now that is changing with the new Dead or Alive 6. According to developer Team Ninja, the focus will be more on real autonomy and less on the jiggle. This is a fighting game everyone should try. It will be released in March 2019.
25. Jedi: Fallen Order
How many Star Wars fans are reading this article? I bet a lot. That is no surprise at all. The new game is currently being developed at Respawn, and it is set after Star Wars: Episode III. It deals with the fallout from Order 66 which forced the Clone Troopers to change their purpose and turn their guns on the Jedi. How good this game is going to be, it is too early to tell.
26. Gears 5
Gears of War series continues with Gears 5 – don’t be confused by the title. The name is changed, but so is the gameplay. For the first time, Gears will have a female protagonist called Kait Diaz, the former Outcast who debuted in Gears of War 4. Don’t worry, Marcus Fenix and his son will be around.
26. Nioh 2
Ghosts of Tsushima, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice might be the titles you are familiar with. However, next year, the players in Japan and other parts of the world as well, will all want to play Nioh 2. Expect more of the same as in the first game, but better!
28. Deamon X Machina
Nintendo didn’t wow the crowds at the E3 this year, but there was one notable title that did trigger murmur. It is Deamon X Machina, which is scheduled to arrive sometime in 2019.
29. Jump Force
Jump Force might seem as the crossover between the most popular anime characters. Sure there are Dragon Ball’s Goku and Frieza, Naruto, also One Piece hero Luffy and many others. But there is a reason behind such a game. Weekly Shonen Jump, a popular manga magazine is celebrating 50 in 2018, and they celebrate it with a game. Sign me up.
30. Sekiro
From Software became a world-known brand with Dark Souls, but their goal with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is different. Still, the players will face challenges during the gameplay and combat based less on patter recognition and more on experimentation. We cannot wait to see this game and the approach From Software took.
31. Wolfenstein: Youngblood
In the next chapter of the Nazi-killing franchise, BJ Blazkowicz will go on a killing streak with a friend. And what better way to extend the original game than adding another important character in the upcoming installment?
32. Ori and the Will of the Wisps
Ori and the Blind Forest only proves that you don’t need outstanding 3D graphics to make a great game. The sequel is called Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and it looks even better than the first part.
33. Control
Control is a third-person shooter created by Remedy Entertainment, scheduled to come out in 2019. The game combines psychic powers, shapeshifting environment, and supernatural threats. Remedy changes pace with this game, and we cannot wait to play it.
34. Yoshi
Mario’s green buddy is going to receive a standalone game and this better look good! Yoshi is an adorable character, and we are certain that players controlling him will have tons of fun.
35. Code Vein
Code Vein will challenge your skills as a player. You will have to time your attacks to cause the maximum damage, dodge at the right time and manage your stamina meter wisely. Can you do that? If you think you can, Code Vein will be out in the market soon.
36. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
Even though you probably haven’t heard of this game, we will not talk too much about it. Why you probably wonder? Because this is Castlevania in everything but the name.
37. Metal Wolf Chaos XD
Metal Wolf Chaos was the game released in Japan only, but the new XD remake will be available in every country. Be open towards this title, considering that it is developed by From Software, which you are familiar with.
38. Spelunky 2
Spelunky sequel is really going to be launched in 2019. And if you are familiar with this game, that is all you have to know.
