A laser cutting machine for wood is an effective fine engraving, marking, and cutting tool. If you have a good wood laser engraver, you can customize anything. The Atom Stack A5 Pro is a potent and adaptable laser engraver that brings the power of professional-level equipment into your home. These days, wood-cutting laser devices are becoming more common. Small businesses, food manufacturers, and people who want to use their artwork to decorate their homes all want it.
All users, from amateurs to professionals, can use the Atom Stack A5 Pro machine. This post will go over the contents of the package, how it works with different materials, and our final assessment of it. Read on if you’re debating whether to get the Atom Stack A5 Pro laser engraver but need to know which one is better.
A more expensive device is the Atomstack A5 Pro. Also, the Atom Stack A5 Pro laser engraver comes with a helpful, easy-to-follow group guidelines booklet. All required tools are present. Parts and screws are packaged separately and labeled with the necessary assembly manual steps. The machine takes less than 30 minutes to put together.

Laser Diode:
A diode in the Atom Stack A5 Pro laser engravers means a semiconductor device with two terminals, typically allowing current to flow in only one direction, putting out about 5.5W of optical power. The Atom Stack A5 Pro 40W Co2 laser operates at an equivalent capacity. A laser diode is an excellent fixed-focus diode. The laser diode claims to have a square shaft spot form.
Fixed focus means no moving parts in the shaftway, which means stress can be leaner, and the focusing method is much faster than flexible focus.
The head has a defensive shield as an extra layer of protection, but wearing included safety goggles is still a MUST. Getting other high-quality safety glasses with the OD6+ Escort is also advisable. One eye is the only set you have. Protect them! Even reflections from these lasers, which operate in the visible light spectrum, can be hazardous to your eyes!
Protect your eyes! The safety glasses that come with them could be better. Get yourself some high-quality OD6+ safety glasses to keep your eyes protected!
How to focus:
The focusing method of the Atomstack A5 20W is that the head should be 2 mm above the engraving texture for best cutting. To focus, one needs to put an acrylic sheet/shim under the laser lead and reduce the information on the shim. The shim is 2mm thick, and after pulling the Z-axis nail with the trans key, the charge remains 2mm above the surface.
Cut and engrave many materials:
The Atom Stack A5 20W is used to cut wood, leather, cotton (cloth), rubber, paper, fruit, foam, acrylic, black anodized aluminum, and blackened metal, all of which are suitable materials for engraving.
Another worthy thing about the Atom Stack A5 Pro cutter is that it can cut through materials including cardboard, wood, paper, tape, and fabric.
The Atom Stack A5, a pro engraving machine, can cut cardboard or wood in multiple passes, paper, and tape in a single run. This device can cut wood, especially poplar plywood, which all laser cutters prefer because it is smooth.
Alert! Avoid plastics like PVC and vinyl because they release hydrogen chloride gas. This gas is toxic and highly corrosive; it can harm your machine.
We tested the device by cutting and engraving several materials. Click here for additional details.
Software and Supported Formats:
Atomstack A5 Pro laser engravers are compatible with the free LaserGRBL software, which works reasonably well but is clunky. It works great for some testing, but I went with Lightburn because it’s a much more advanced program and easier to use. You need a license to use it, but it is not obtainable. But the software offers a fully functional, one-month free trial, which can help you determine if it’s worth it. Because it saves a lot of time, for me, it was helpful (which is not free).
Atom Stack A5 pro uses LaserGRBL, bitmap image files (BMP, JPG, PNG, DXF, etc.), and vector files (NC, BMP, JPG, PNG, etc.).
Lightburn gives more forms:
Atomstack a5 pro uses lightweight burning of AI, SVG, DXF, PDF, HPGL, PLT, and RD for PNG, JPG, BMP, TIFF, TGA, and GIF, as well as vector formats.
Because the vector format has paths around the edges of the shape that the laser head tracks, it is preferred for these machines. Because a laser cuts directly in place instead of creating dots when scanning and engraving bitmap images like a printer, vector files are faster to carve (pictures).
You can find countless free vector designs on the Internet or use free vector drawings applications such as Inkscape or QCAD (for more technical drawings).
Wood Engraving:
We developed our classic engraving imprint to showcase the engraving credentials in various settings so you can see the significance of the laser beam.
Power Scale:
The Energy Scale test pattern shows how the machine engraves at different speeds with additional power levels.
Speeds are 600, 1200, 1800, and 2400 mm/min, and they use power from 10% to 100% in 10% increments. Because the beam burns very slowly, the Atom Stack A5 20W farms are slow and have high strength. This results in a sizable burned-out globe that needs more helpful information.
