Everything You Should Know About Brow Lift

by Wendy Stokes December 3, 2021

Have you ever tugged your brows upward and realised that you look more youthful? You are not alone. Most people will experience a phenomenon known as droopy brow. As the name suggests, our eyebrows like many parts of our body, begin to lose their spritely nature as we continue to age. Another telltale sign of the dreaded droopy brow is when your once arched eyebrows now appear limp and flat. Of course, this is a normal process of aging. Experts at Mayo Clinic believe that as we grow older, tissue and our skin lose their vitality causing them to sag. This can severely condense the length between your eyebrows and lashes.

While there are a plethora of ways to combat the aging process including invasive botox injections and surgical procedures, one sure-fire way of reinvigorating tired eyebrows is through a brow lift. According to Mayo Clinic, a brow lift can do wonders in helping you to put your best face forward with a more appealing appearance. More often than not, lowered eyebrows can make you appear tired or even vexed, which is certainly not the impression we would like to create. Brow lifts are also a great way to improve sagging brows and skyrocket your self-confidence levels.

When you go for a brow lift, brow experts know how to breathe new life into your droopy brows and give you a youthful glow. Plus, the best part of a brow lift is that it is completely non-invasive and non-permanent. To achieve a brow lift without going under the knife, Singaporean brow salon, Browhaus uses a specialised brow lamination technique involving the reshaping of your eyebrow using a perming solution that leaves your brows arched and perfectly contoured for 4 weeks.

All you have to worry about following the procedure is giving your brows some tender loving care by moisturising them with an undercoat solution. A brow lift is categorically different from other services like brow embroidery which are semi-permanent and are more demanding in terms of aftercare. With brow embroidery, more consideration needs to be given to the brows after the initial treatment by keeping the treatment area hydrated and dry for more than a week.

How Do You Tell If You Are Suitable For A Brow Lamination

But how do you know if you are the perfect candidate for brow lamination?

This procedure will be perfect if you have really dense eyebrows and if your eyebrows have pesky gaps within them making them appear sparse. If you are looking to make your eyebrows more fuller and thicker for a brief period of time, then the brow lamination procedure will be perfect for you. But, if you do not fall into this category, it is recommended that you have a short consultation with brow experts who can aptly advise you on the different eyebrow procedures that you can consider instead.

Is It A Safe Procedure?

Before beginning the treatment, it is recommended that clients disclose certain health conditions. This can usually be done by informing staff at the Customer Relations Officers or Front Desk at the brow salon which you are frequenting. Such health conditions include but are not limited to: whether you are currently pregnant, had previous surgical procedure on or around the brow area in the past 6 months or if you have health issues like diabetes or epilepsy. Your safety during and after the procedure is a top priority for any true-blue brow expert. While they would love to give you your dream eyebrows, they would like to ensure that you are qualified for the procedure.

But What Exactly Can You Expect From The Brow Lift Procedure

A team of beauty technicians will work on perfecting your eyebrow arches within a 50-minute procedure. This period involves a short consultation session along with the actual application process. Firstly, the beautician will do some necessary prep work by applying a layer of cream. Next, they will gently tug the hairs upward to fill in sparse areas and determine the position of the arches. A neutralising cream will then be applied to keep the brows in their arched positions. Finally, an undercoat solution is added to revitalise the brows.

The brow lift procedure may cause you to feel a slight discomfort with mild symptoms like soreness, mild swelling, itchiness and slight redness. While this is a normal reaction, it is important that you disclose any such discomfort to the beautician who is working on your eyebrows. As mentioned before, it is imperative that you assess your suitability for this treatment with the relevant customer personnel.

Once the brow lamination is completed, you will need to do some simple follow up care. Using a specialised spoolie comb meant to brush and contour your eyebrows, you can ensure that the brows retain their outline. It is imperative that you hydrate your brows with an undercoat solution. To maintain and maximise the treatment and keep those brows perfectly bushy and arched, you will have to commit to a regular grooming routine.

The effective self-application of the Undercoat Lash and Brow Conditioner requires three simple steps which include: Lift, Define and Sculpt.

Step 1: Lift

The first step is Lift. In this step, ensure that you are brushing the undercoat solution upwards beginning from the forefront of your brows. This step not only promises that you will maintain the shape of your newly minted brows, but it also helps to fluff your eyebrows to give them a denser appearance.

Step 2: Define

The second step is Define. Here you must take special care to style your brows to the contoured shape.

Step 3: Sculpt

The last step is to Sculpt. Within this step, you must pull the brush application through to the tail end of the eyebrow. The important part of this third and final step is to sculpt it to the desired look and effect and finally pull it through to the end of the brow. Next, fill in any sparse patches with a Brow Power Tool only once the undercoat has dried.
