It has finally come the day in life where my little brother is getting married to a wonderful woman. And so for the big day, we haven’t stopped having all kinds of events.
His girlfriend is the only girl in her family, so I became the big sister and Maid of Honor, and though it is amazing fun. By the event number (insert a number here, since I lost the count) I didn’t know what else to wear or how to help her look amazing without breaking the bank and buying new outfits every day.
Here are some of the looks I have been wearing in the past events, hoping it can inspire and help somebody looking for ideas!
Engagement brunch
It was still too cold so I had some black wool tights and a super long v neck sweater that is more like a dress in a light greyish color, ponytail, light makeup, and a gold plated name necklace that my husband gave me last Christmas.
Girls night out
I must say that this was a little tricky, as I am 10 years older than my new sister in law and her friends + 2 kids…so trying to look as cool as they were very hard! I chose a black skirt and a red blouse, for the accessories I went the extra mile and layered 3 different necklaces in gold plated and silver with different lengths: an initial necklace, a horoscope necklace, and a bar! This was by far my favorite look, maybe because it reminds me that I am not too old to have fun.
Rehearsal dinner
Since this was a very formal thing, I wore a cocktail black dress and mixed it with a plain zirconia bar necklace and matched my zirconia earrings. Who knew that the rehearsal dinner was so boring?
Wedding day
As a Maid of Honor, the bride picked my dress, color, and accessories.
Each bridesmaid received a rose plated monogram necklace to be worn with the strapless pink blush dress that was chosen by the bride.
The monogram with our initials was her gift to us to say thank you and I have to say that unlike the dress, I will be using my monogram every day!
How do you mix and match your dresses and jewelry?
