Residents of Celoron, New York, Lucille Ball’s hometown, are very unhappy with this horrifying statue that definitely does not look like the late comedienne. It looks like Paulie Walnuts from “The Sopranos” if you ask me. Anyway, the statue has been living in Celoron since 2009, but I suppose after five years they’ve all had enough. One resident has started a Facebook page called “We Love Lucy! Get Rid of this Statue” with a link to a GoFundMe to raise money for a re-do. No one has been able to reach David Poulin, the sculptor of the abomination, but my guess is he’s in his studio right now creating a statue of Lauren Bacall that looks like James Gandolfini. Maybe for now they can cover Lucy in a shroud in order to protect the children? [The Hollywood Reporter]
