Mike Tyson is one of the most famous boxers of all time. However, he’s had a troubled and notorious past.
Tyson is now doing much better. He has his own podcast, a successful acting career, and even a popular weed business to his name. Still, he carries some dark thoughts.
Mike became the heavyweight champion and soon took America by storm. However, when his mentor and coach died, it didn’t take long before his life became out of control.
Tyson was convicted of rape in 1992, and for that, he was served three years in prison. That put his boxing career on hold and also left a huge stain on his legacy.
Despite that event, Mike managed to make his boxing return, but he retired after a couple of losses.
Tyson had anger issues while his boxing career was happening. He also had quite a rough childhood.
He joined a street gang before he started boxing, but his anger issues later even turned into domestic violence against his first wife, Robin Givens.
Another tragedy happened in 2009, his 4-year-old daughter, Exodus, accidentally died in his home. That hurt him deeply.
With all this tragedy, it’s not surprising that Mike has some dark thoughts about life and death.
It was reported that he isn’t afraid to die. Tyson thinks that life is a struggle since he’s been on top of the world, but also at the bottom.
Because of this unique perspective on life, his views on fame and wealth has changed. He said: “We think we’re somebody. Who the f***? We’re nothing! We come from s***, we think we’re special! Fame is s***.”
Tyson added: “Living might be more complicated than dying to me. Because living takes a lot of courage. Without courage, you can’t handle living.”
This reflects all the tragedies he had to overcome. But even though he says that he looks forward to dying, he is not suicidal.
“I’ve handled bad stuff before, that’s been my life. So I don’t trip over bad things. When bad things happen, I will still be striving to do something. I won’t be discouraged,” he added.
