You know, women are used to men explaining themselves to them. But #NotAllMen are mansplainers, right? Which is why we should all be so very thankful for designer Tom Ford, who thinks men should get fucked to understand women better. In the ass. Yes, Ford thinks that if men were penetrated more often, they would get what it’s like to be a woman. Because Tom Ford apparently knows everything, and seems to actually believe that getting fucked (sometimes in the ass) is what real womanhood is about. Just bending over and taking it from someone with a dick all the time. So, it turns out that #NotAllMen are terrible, but most of them are.
Thanks for that nuanced take on the gender gap, sir. Listen to this garbage. “I think it would help them understand women. It’s such a vulnerable position to be in, and it’s such a passive position to be in. And there’s such an invasion, in a way, that even if it’s consensual, it’s just very personal,” Ford told GQ.
“And I think there’s a psyche that happens because of it that makes you understand and appreciate what women go through their whole life,” he added, “because it’s not just sexual, it’s a complete setup of the way the world works, that one sex has the ability to literally — and is expected to and is wanted to — but also there’s an invasion. And I think that that’s something most men do not understand at all.”
Um, no. Tom Ford, your thoughts are not useful. Sure, there are probably many a grad school theses about feminism and women literally being fucked by men. Whatever. But, his logic that anyone who’s ever had a dick inside them understands women better than other people is just not true — I know lots of people who’ve been penetrated that are still complete jerks when it comes to women (possibly Ford himself).
That aside, him saying men penetrating women is “expected” and “wanted” is the real problem. No, not all women want to be penetrated. In fact, he’s slipping into some tricky territory here. If he really believes the “setup of the way the world works” is that women expect and want the other sex (as he calls it, I’d prefer “gender,” but let’s not split hairs here) to penetrate them, Ford is basically no different than the creep on the corner who’s telling you to smile or the father that defends rape culture because girls are “fast.”
Yes, please, Tom Ford, go around telling men that women are made to be penetrated and most men aren’t. Cool story, bro.
