Top 5 Tourist Attractions in Las Vegas

by Wendy Stokes March 19, 2021
by Wendy Stokes March 19, 2021

Despite being located in the desert, Las Vegas is famous for fun and excitement. It has a long history of being home to gambling activities. Nevertheless, the cosmopolitan city could be likened to a large playground offering visitors great things to see and special activities to see. With your feet on over-the-top casinos on The Strip, a.k.a. Las Vegas Boulevard, you can see different glamorous sites and visit different countries at a spot.

It is common to see hotels that serve as attractions themselves. There are also interesting museums with impressive sights, not to talk of places that provide lots of recreational opportunities, such as hiking, camping, boating, and skiing. If you seek to make plans to spend your next vacation in Las Vegas, here are top 5 must-see attractions exclusively for you.

  • 5. Stratosphere Tower

1. Bellagio Casino

You may be wondering why a casino has to be included as a tourism attraction. Apart from having a spectacular gaming experience, Bellagio Casino offers more than poker or table games. Bellagio Casino is famous not only for its dancing fountains but also its conservatory and botanical gardens with so many plants that it takes 140 horticulturists to maintain them. There are always holiday-themed displays where visitors can ask different gardening questions.

Much more interesting is the showroom area that features changing themes ranging from spring botanical displays to captivating shows of art. The fountain show features fountains that explode in a fusion of light and music. From the sidewalk of the area, your attention will be caught by the beautiful display of water. It is therefore not surprising that Bellagio referred to the show as “the most ambitious, choreographically complex water feature ever conceived.”

If you want to enjoy the casino right now might not be the best time as Covid-19 is affecting the hours the casino is open, if it’s even open at all. Right now, the closest thing would be their online version of the casino.

BetMGM which is Bellagio Casino’s online platform offers reviews of all casino games and slots, including bonuses and promotions; you can explore the review published by OLBG to learn more.

2. The Strip

When people talk of Las Vegas, all they picture is luxury. All thanks to The Strip! It is undoubtedly a place of many activities. Located on a stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard South, you will experience an atmosphere that transports you into the world of fantasy. As you walk along The Strip, you would notice giant casinos that are connected to one another as well as interconnected hotels – either by bridge or underground.

You wouldn’t want to miss its nightlife as it is particularly impressive and fun to take a walk during the time. The city is illuminated by glittering neon signs that seem to have no expiry date. The sight of the area continues to feed your senses. You may have to avoid taking a walk, especially during the summer. The heat that comes with the season may be too unbearable such that what is supposed to be an enjoyable activity will make you uncomfortable.

3. Caesars Palace

Another place of luxury to visit in the Sin City (that is, Las Vegas) is the $24 million Caesars Palace which was constructed in 1966 to add a much more glamorous to The Strip. Caesars Palace has featured in several Hollywood movies, including the Award-winning film Rain Man and The Hangover, the 2009 hit comedy. This has made it one of the best and famous hotel resorts in Las Vegas.

Apart from this, visitors can always hope to see great performances here as the hotel has a concert venue known as The Colosseum. The huge concert venue has featured top performers, such as Celine Dion and Elton John, for extended periods. However, visitors that hope to see a performance here will have to book a ticket in advance.

4. Fremont Street Experience

Even if you’re going to miss an attraction in Las Vegas, be sure it is not the Fremont Street Experience. It is a sound and light show that takes place on a five-block section of Fremont Street, otherwise known as Glitter Gulch during the city’s early years. You tend to see colorful displays of lights – usually featuring over 12 million LED lights streak – amidst loud music in a night under a canopy that is as high as 90 feet.

When the light show is about to start, casinos and other businesses around the area turn off their lights. You can be sure of your safety as Fremont Street is a pedestrian-only area. Each night comes with its special performance, visual show, fantastic music, among other entertainment acts that tend to leave you in a wonderland. You may decide to take a taxi there or use the Las Vegas Strip Helicopter Night Flight to truly experience the nightlife of the area.

5. Stratosphere Tower

The Stratosphere, built between 1992 and 1995, is the tallest building in Las Vegas and the United States’ tallest freestanding tower. At the tower, you gain access to four thrill rides that aim to serve all adventure seekers, irrespective of their interests. With a height as tall as 1,149 feet, the Stratosphere Tower has positioned itself as the peak of the Las Vegas skyline, making it a real attraction for visitors.

There are a host of activities to do at the Tower apart from having thrill rides that can cause your heart to pound heavily if you are the type that has a phobia for height. You may also consider the SkyJump, Big Shot, X Scream, and Insanity. If you want a less-fearful adventure, you may consider having a nice meal at the Top of the World Restaurant. Beyond the cuisine experience you get, it is a great place to have an aerial view of the Las Vegas city, though from a distance.

The observation deck also gives you spectacular 360-degree views of the city and its surrounding landscape. One other interesting place at the Tower is a fully outfitted chapel that is available for any couple that wants to tie the knot in the sky. The tower opens both on weekdays and weekends. Each thrill seeker can have a spectacular experience for a fee.

Be sure to plan your visit to make the most of your time. Las Vegas is more than just a city – it’s another world in a city.
