As we have already said, the royals have been getting their names on the basis of historical background of the royal family and those names actually have the purpose to show a message of the parents and of the future of their baby. So, it should be mentioned that Prince Harry’s full and real royal name is Henry Charles Albert David. Yeah, that is right! Prince Harry’s real name is actually Henry.

It should be also noted that this is not any spectacular news or something that has been hidden from the public. Quite the contrary! When Prince Harry was born, the new edition the People magazine was issued on the 1st October in 1984. Here, prince’s name is clearly and undisputedly written on the cover – Prince Henry of Wales.

So, his real name was known and announced to the public from the early start, why than the entire world knows him as Harry. Well, it is obvious that Harry is a diminutive form of Henry in the UK, and that Prince Charles and Princess Diana of Wales, i.e. his parents, preferred the diminutive and called their son Harry both at home and in public. During his dating and then engagement with Meghan Markle, a lot was written about Prince Harry’s relationship with her. However, when the wedding was announced and issued by Clarence House on the 27th November 2017, it was clearly stated that Meghan Markle was marrying Prince Henry. So, it may have happened that some people were actually astounded by the fact that Harry is not Prince’s real name. Some of them may have even Google it in order to find out who this is or to confirm that that is him.
Which One Do You Prefer?
There has been a lot of debate which of the names “suites” him better. In some way, we have been all accustomed to read and use Harry due to constant reports in the media bout the mischievous prince that is partying and annoying the Royal Family.

Are you still mind-blown? A lot people surely are. But we need to be honest and frank and say that we have been used to him being called as his parents called him – Harry. Why? Simply because that is a name that better goes with and describes him.
