Early age
She was born on July 27, 1994, in Toronto, Canada. When she was four years old, she was diagnosed with a skin condition called vitiligo. Vitiligo is a long-term skin condition defined by patches of the skin losing their pigment. Children in her class used to call her ‘’cow’’ and ‘’zebra’’ because of the white patches that she has all over her body. She moved to different schools multiple times but ended up dropping out of high school.
Rise to fame
Tyra Banks came across on Instagram on Winnie Harlow, and she was picked to be one of the fourteen contestants on America’s Next Top Model. She went as Chantelle, was the second model to leave the show. She ended up in the sixth place out of all the eliminated participants in a later series.
