Prince Charles is next in the line for the throne, and he is followed by his older son, Prince William. People have stated how much they prefer the idea of Prince William becoming the next King of England instead of Prince Charles, and here are some reasons why.

Prince William knew ever since he was a child that he will one day become the King of England. Princess Diana shared that despite him knowing that that day will come, he didn’t much want to be the King. But now as he is older, he is aware that he must accept that fact, and he is fully preparing for his future role.

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles have tried for years to repair their public image. They may have succeeded, but still, people are more leaning on Prince William as the King of England. Prince William’s steady marriage to Kate Middleton has made him more loveable. And his relationship with his kids is more approachable to us common folk, that the stories we hear of Prince Charles and his past relationship with his sons. BMG Research created a survey which showed that 46% of the British people want Prince Charles to abdicate the throne in favor of his son. Prince Charles has stated in the past that he has intentions on staying in the position as the King when he ascended to the throne.
Can the Queen place William in Charles’ place?

Rider’s Digest reported that the 1701 Act of Settlement says that in case of Queen’s death, Prince Charles will come to her position. Parliament made things the way they are, and the Queen can’t do anything to change that. So even if she wanted, she can’t pass the crown to Prince William instead of Prince Charles.
Whatever the public’s desires are, Prince Charles is next in the line for the throne, and he has been preparing for it his whole life. We have no doubt that he will do a fantastic job as Britain’s monarch, as he has done it these past years as the Prince of Wales.
