Porsche presented the amazing 911 Speedster concept in June and it has just been confirmed that this model will reach the production. It is a two-seater sports car that was constructed as a part of the company’s 70 birthday party. Moreover, the new car will mark the end of the ongoing generation 911, which will be a proper send-off.
The original concept has been modified slightly and it is now painted in the color called Guards Red. This shade was used to pay respect to the original 911 Speedster that debuted in 1988 whereas the refreshed concept features cross-spoke 21-inch alloys wheels. In the meantime the retro door mirrors and the fuel filler cap are finished in chrome. The company claims that there will be no additional changes on the model, except perhaps adding a new color palette.
Unlike the 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet the new 2019 Porsche 911 Limited Edition will not feature a folding fabric top. Instead, a tonneau cover that snaps onto the body with buttons is all drivers will get. This vehicle cannot be driven with the cover in place, which means that drivers will be faced with a difficult choice – remaining dry or keep moving.
With the limited edition, a new option Porsche calls Heritage Design will be pioneered. In its core, this is an appearance package that will enhance your interior and give the car a more modern look. It is too early to know what the things which will be included in the package are, but we will know more details as we move towards the launch date.
Since it doesn’t have a top, you will be able to hear the roaring of a naturally aspirated I6 engine that delivers 500 horsepower. This unit has been taken from the GT3 model. The engine will be connected with a six-speed manual gearbox.
The production of the 911 Porsche Speedster will start at the beginning of the next year. The company will assemble only 1,948 units, considering that is a year when Porsche was established. Pricing isn’t announced, but this is a Porsche and a limited edition as well, which means that it will not be cheap.
