Everyone has a different idea of what’s sexy, but when it comes to makeup looks admired for their seductive properties, I think there’s a few that we can reach a general consensus on. Why concentrate on a sexy outfit only to overlook your face, the most powerful seduction tool of all?
After the jump, three fail-safe sexy beauty looks, and the techniques and products you need to get them.
Kim Kardashian’s Smoky Eyes
Have you had enough of Kim Kardashian yet? Me too… still, there’s one thing about her that I can’t help but swoon over: the most insanely gorgeous smoky eyes. It seems like almost every day she’s out and about debuting a new collection of some kind. I can’t even keep track anymore, but smoky eyes are one thing about Kim that’s consistent. Lucky for us, her makeup artist, Troy Jensen, divulged his secrets to his client’s flawless smoky eyes. Begin with groomed brows. Use a powder eye-shadow trio with light, medium, and dark shades (1). Dust the light shade just below the brow. Apply the dark shade over the entire eyelid and just slightly beneath the lower lash line. Blend upwards but avoid making the look too cat-like. Line the entire eye with black pencil eyeliner (2) and blend with a sponge applicator or q-tip. Curl your lashes and liberally apply a black mascara (3).

Marion Cotillard’s Black Eyeliner & Nude Lips
Black eyeliner, pink-nude lipstick, and a touch of mascara, as shown here on French beauty Marion Cotillard, is one of the loveliest and most simple beauty looks to achieve on your own. Prep your eyelids with a primer or eye base (1). Apply black liquid eyeliner (2) just above your upper lash line, following the natural contour of the eye, flicking the line just slightly upward at the end. Use a softer black pencil (3) to line the lower lash line and blend with a q-tip. Finish the eyes by curling lashes and coating them with a black mascara 4) For this nude lip look, you can cheat by skipping out on lip liner and applying a beige-pink shade close to your natural lip color (5) straight out of the tube. Dab the lipstick on the apples of your cheeks and blend.

Scarlett Johansson’s Bright Red Lips
Red lips have been acknowledged for decades as one of the most come-hither beauty looks out there. Case in point: Scarlett Johansson’s sultry beauty campaign for Dolce & Gabbana. Though the actress evokes Marilyn with a serious cat eye in the ad, this vibrant lip shade is best worn with an otherwise bare face. Just a coat of brown mascara (1), which is less severe than black, will do. If you’re prone to chapped lips, be sure to wear a lip balm ahead of time because this look can be seriously drying. Begin by outlining and filling in lips with a clear lip liner (2). If you can’t find one, use a shade as close as possible to your lipstick. Swipe on a moisture-rich red lipstick (3), blot, then reapply until reaching your desired coverage.
