You might not think of China as a place of adventure and thrill-seeking. But did you know that China is home to the world’s second-highest bungee jump, at 233 meters (764 ft) high? Even if bungee jumping is not your thing, you can still soar to great heights in China by visiting the Hanging Monastery or brave the bridge of immortals in the Huang Mountains that has been described as “death-defying.”
Some of the activities you can experience in China include Bungee jumping, hiking, cliff walks, and a taste of weird cuisine like scorpions on a stick.
2. Thailand
If you are a thrill seeker who loves the water, then Thailand is the best TEFL destination to choose from. Be sure to pack your favorite sports shoes, a swimsuit, goggles, and even a flipper. The Land of Smiles offers a lot of water-based adventure activities including white water rafting along the Pai River on the border with Myanmar. If a whirlwind river experience is not for you, you can go cliff diving on the nearby waterfalls or visit the numerous hot springs in the area.

Nothing brings the adrenaline rush than sharing your personal space with these magnificent predators. Chum is thrown on the water and you wait for the Sharks to respond. You may even get lucky enough to see them feeding, which is an oddly graceful but very terrifying experience.
And the wonderful and sometimes terrifying creatures in Costa Rica are not just in the sea. On land, you can get the chance to experience some of the world’s most venomous frogs and some of the world’s largest Tarantulas. In the Corcovado National Park, you can catch a glimpse of the ever elusive jaguar, basilisk lizard and even the beautiful scarlet macaw.
4. Chile and Argentina
If you get the chance, choose a TEFL destination in Chile or Argentina. There is a reason this region of Patagonia is popular among backpackers; there is no shortage of the things you can experience on this trip. The wild backcountry gives you the best opportunity to go hiking, camping, glacier trekking and mountain climbing. For example, you can visit Iguazu Waterfalls because the view is stunning.. You may want to pack your dry hiking pants and warm flannel to adequately enjoy this area of the American continent.
5. Taiwan
Taiwan is the best place to choose if you particularly like biking. The country’s 602-mile cycle route No.1 is one of the most popular bile paths in Asia. Most bike paths in this country are also found in the rugged, untouched eastern coast, meaning calming views and the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. If you are looking for a much higher adrenaline rush, try one of Taiwan’s 300 mountain peaks, over 3000 meters high.
