Who can imagine a girl of 17, leaving the comfort of her home to pursue her dream in Art? Of all the creative industries, visual art is one of those male-dominated industries where it’s still very rare to find women artists making a living through art. Tere Casas is one of those artists who has broken the stereotypical mindset and proven to all her critics that women too can do wonders in this industry.
Humans are driven by their dreams, she too followed her dreams and has never stopped chasing it. A believer in the fact that the future is in our own hands, and that our lives too are a product of our own creation. This is why Tere in her pursuit to reach the apex of the world through her brilliant strokes of color gives the message that the “The Future is yours to create”.
The painting was exhibited under the theme Transcending Limitations, in CCCM Mexican Centre for Culture and Cinematic Arts on December 5, 2018, the place is 2401 West 6th Street, Los Angeles CA (Retrieved from her website). Her blending of color to give the message across the three paintings is unique; the dominant colors that have been used are green and blue, these colors are a representation of Mother Earth. Through these paintings, she shows how ample opportunities have been presented to us and that, ‘The world is beautiful’.
Cultural Exchange
Art is a medium of expression for artists like Tere who define the world as a home and tries to blend humanity, peace, and tranquility into her paintings.
In one of her Interviews with News Week, she says, “what I try to communicate with my work is the positive effect of migration in the world. Right now I live in San Francisco and it is a multinational place, it is a place where we have the great privilege of living with people from absolutely all over the world with completely different roots, but in the end, we find ourselves there’. This made her tie the world together, and its positive aspects through her visual art”.

Solo Exhibitions and Her message
She did her first solo exhibition in 2002, with the Oceanía Modulada at the “Casa de la Cultura Oaxaqueña“, Oaxaca, Mexico. And at the K.O. Gallery, Mexico City. In 2003 her work was showcased in Mexico City and the same year she flew across the Atlantic to exhibit her creation in Madrid, where she managed to exhibit her creation of the beautiful planet in 2004 and 2005.
This was her approach to give a view of ‘the beautiful planet’ we live in and bring cultures together through the exchange of views and through art. She has organized a solo exhibition again in 2010,2014,2016 and 2018. In 2016 her solo exhibition in Spain showcased how cultures can all melt in one place as she blended colors found in nature.
Her approach is unique as she strives to spread the messages of unity and humanity.
