A commercial refrigerator has become a common sight in these modern times. You will find one being used in restaurants, hospitals, hotels, and various other commercial places. Commercial refrigerators are available in different sizes. Due to the wide variety of uses of such a refrigerator, these are normally much bigger when compared to standard units. It is normally seen that commercial refrigerators are used more often. Restaurant and hotel staffs open and close the doors of such refrigerators every now and then on a daily basis. As a result of this, the efficiency level of the coolers goes down steadily. However, there are ways to improve the efficiency of a commercial refrigerator.  Here are some things commercial refrigeration equipment experts recommend.

Ways to Improve the Efficiency of a Commercial Refrigerator

When it comes to maintaining the efficiency level of your commercial refrigerator, there are several ways that can help you with it. Some of the commonly used ways have been discussed below for your knowledge.

  • Get an Auto Door Closer: During rush hours, hotel staffs are always busy catering to the needs of customers. At such times, ensuring that the refrigerator door is properly closed, every time it is opened, is the last thing on your mind. The best solution for this problem and to improve the efficiency of your commercial refrigerator is to install an auto door closer mechanism. This will prevent the food kept inside from getting spoilt and also the cool air from escaping from the refrigerator.
  • Clean the Condenser Coils: If you take a look at the rear side of your refrigerator, you will find coils that help to remove the warmth from the unit. After prolonged usage and non-maintenance of the coils, these tend to get dusty. As a result of this, it fails to operate at its optimum level and in an efficient manner. Thus, it is highly recommended to vacuum these condenser coils on a regular basis or even clean it with a dry piece of cloth to boost the efficiency level of the refrigerator.
  • Install Proper Strip Curtains: Every time the door of your commercial refrigerator is opened, you will notice cool air escaping and warm outside air taking its place. As a result of this, the refrigerator has to work more in order to cool down the warm air. You can install strip curtains, which can create an additional barrier to keep the cool inside air from escaping out and prevent the warm outside air from getting in.

  • Upgrade the Motors: Another simple way of boosting the efficiency level of your commercial refrigerator is by upgrading the motor of the machine to an EC motor. According to data, these motors are almost 70% more efficient than any old motor.
  • Use LED Lights: It is needless to say that LED lights are the most energy efficient lighting solutions in the market. LED lights also work like a charm in cold conditions that make it make it a great fit for use in a commercial refrigerator. LED lights give more light at less power.
