1. Rod and reel
These are two can be considered the backbones of fishing since wishing cannot be envisioned without a rod and reel. Their quality and stability directly affect fishing itself and its quality. They are both essential for bait and lure fishing. There are different kinds of rods and reels that can be used for catching different kinds of fish, so it is very important to know which ones are you using when you are fishing on a lake, for example, and which ones you are using when you are fishing trout, for example.
2. Line
Just like the above mentioned, lines are a crucial part of fishing. Best fishing gear implies the best fishing line. It needs to be added that lines have also been brought to perfection and there are various types of those, as well. First of all, we need to mention that they differ in their diameters. Each diameter is different for different styles of fishing and for different kinds of fish. The thicker ones are more resistant ones, naturally. Let’s list some of them:
a) braided – they are thinner, but they are very resistant;
b) fluorocarbon –those are very good since they cannot be seen when they are underwater and they are very resistant to abrasion, and
c) monofilament – they are very good if you need more elastic and stretchy lines that are buoyant, as well.

3. Tackle
Tackles are also an integral part of fishing since they are responsible for a good catch. There are three sorts of these, i.e., weights, floats, and hooks.
a) Weights – these are needed if you want to throw longer and they are good for a bait being under water for a longer period of time;
b) Floats – they are considered the starting point for all those who want to learn fishing. They are great if you actually want to see your fish catching;
c) Hooks – good and lucrative fishing cannot be imagined without good and top-quality hooks. There are hundreds of versions of them, and each one of them is characteristic for various types of fishing and used for different fish.
4. Live bait
Some people are advocating the usage of live baits as the thing that gives the best results in fishing. There are also various types of those, but night clawers are most commonly used since there is no fish that does not eat them.
5. Lures
Apart from fishing with baits, lures can also be used. The types and kinds of those are so numerous that we cannot even list them. Let’s just say that they come in all shapes and colors. There are lures that are made from soft plastic; there are also spinner baits as well as topwater lures.
