With so many different kinds of hair textures and styles, it can become super confusing for someone who doesn’t know the slight differences between them. There are real human virgin hair, Synthetic fiber wigs, Remy’s hair, and then comes the textures like Brazilian, Indian, Peruvian, etc. Some wigs require glue, and some wigs also come with an adjustable strap that does not require any glue.
Let’s say you have decided that you will be buying real virgin human hair wig, and the texture you want to buy is Brazilian, just saying. Now you are confused between the curl patterns. You can get curly, loose wave and body wave type. Which one should you choose? Don’t worry girl, I will be going through the differences between these wave types and will tell you which wave-type I would go for at the end. So stick around.
Before I start telling you about the differences and similarities between the curly, Loose, and Body wave hair, let me make it clear that I am not an expert in this field. Everything I will be talking about is from my personal experiences. So take that for what it’s worth. Also, for this comparison, I will be using hair from Donmily. This is the company I have been using for a few years, and I like their products.
The Differences and Similarities
First, let me go through the characteristics of all three types of hair. And then, I will bring up the differences and the similarities between them. Lastly, I will be telling you which kind of wig or weave you should get.
When it comes to the curls of the hair, there are usually three major categories. You have the straight one, which is silky and does not have any curls in them. Then there is curly hair that has tight curls, and these like to roll back. And the last type of curls is the waves. These look more natural because this is the type majority of people have. It is within this type you can get loose wave and body wave. Let me tell you more about each one of these.
Curly Hair
Right of the bat, curly is considered very high maintenance. They constantly get tangled, and you have to put a lot more products on them. But we can all agree that curly hair is very pretty and attractive. How do I explain it? I honestly think that these are the most beautiful. Whenever I see someone with curly hair, I am like ‘Damn girl. You look so pretty’.
But unfortunately, curly do not fit everyone’s lifestyle. That’s the case with me as well. The amount of time and effort required to maintain curly hair is not with it for me. I would recommend you to get the curly wig only if you want to take it as a challenge. And you are confident in your skills that you can keep it looking good and attractive for long.
Loose Wave
After curly, I would say that loose wave is the curliest type. Don’t get me wrong. The curly and loose wave is a very different type of hair. I am just using it as an example or a starting point to explain the loose wave. It has a more defined and pronounced pattern than other types. When it comes to maintenance, the loose wave is not very high maintenance. You can curl them, and it will hold the curls for at least a couple of days. Sometimes I curl my loose wave wig, and it looks very good even after a week.
It won’t look as fresh and as bold as last week, but it will still look defined. I would recommend you to get loose wave hair if you want a medium maintenance wig, which looks nice on almost every occasion and does not require a lot of products.
Body Wave
This is the least curly type, other than the straight hair obviously. It requires very little maintenance and looks very attractive. As the name suggests, this type of waves complements your body, and in my opinion, these are also very natural looking.
If you get body wave hair, it curls very nicely, and it looks gorgeous when you curl it. The only problem I have with body wave is that it tends to drop the curls very easily. And despite it being wavy, it looks almost like straight hair. I honestly don’t like body waves, but you can get it if you like it.
Conclusion
So these were a few things I wanted to get across and help you find the right curl pattern that best fits your lifestyle and fits you. To conclude, I would like to make some recommendations. I am not, by any means, telling you to limit your choices to only these. I am only letting you know what I think is best, according to my experience.
If you have a rough lifestyle and you can not keep the best care of your wig, I would highly recommend you avoid getting curly hair. You can get body wave or loose wave, but curly requires too much work and time to maintain.
If you are a student or you work in an office environment, curly hair is what I would recommend to you. Of course, you can get loose waves if you feel like you can not take care of the curly type. But let me tell you, curly hair looks gorgeous. You can choose to give up on looks for convenience. Loose wave is the curl pattern I prefer for myself as well.
And lastly, there is straight hair, which is only for specific times, in my opinion. If you have been trying to straighten your real hair, and have not been successful at it, you can get a straight wig and enjoy the convenience of it.
