Cloud computing services are needed more than ever in these modern days. Salesforce is a company that specializes in this kind of service and customer relationship management as well.

Some of you probably heard about this company before, or maybe the company in which you work is using some of their services. However, if you haven’t, we’re here to cover everything you need to know about it.

What is Salesforce?

A cloud computing service company that specializes in customer relationship management. Their services allow other businesses to use their cloud technology to ensure a better connection with their customers, partners or even their future or potential customers. Through the years, their software has become the number one and many companies, including big ones, started using it.

There’s a statistic that shows about thirty percent of income increase per year after companies started using their cloud technology service. That’s a pretty impressive number. Salesforce became popular in the last couple of years and it is continuing to grow. Jim Cramer, the founder of TheStreet’s, credits Salesforce as the “CloudKing”, and predicts even more future successes for the company.

Salesforce was founded in 1999 by Marc Benioff, a former Oracle executive, Dave Moellenhoff, Frank Dominguez and Parker Harris. It’s one of the first world-wide companies to successfully develop a cloud-based CRM software.

How is it like working at Salesforce?

Now that we cleared some things up about the origins and purpose of the company, we’re going to take a look at careers at Salesforce. Being a pretty large company already, they have more than thirty thousand employees. Their careers cover a wide variety of roles such as Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Product, Legal, IT and more. The Salesforce headquarters are currently located in San Francisco. There’s also a regional headquarters in Switzerland to cover Europe, Africa, India and other locations. It is really important to mention the other locations because people that want to work at Salesforce get discouraged due to the main headquarters location. This is because the cost of living in San Francisco is one of the highest in the entire United States and even owning or renting a place to live can be a big financial problem. Their San Francisco headquarters has about eight thousand employees at the moment.

Being a successful company that they are today, Salesforce employees are very satisfied with their salary. It averages about $170.000 per year, and if you’re an experienced software engineer that worked there for a longer period, your salary might go up to $211.000. The amazing thing about working there is not just financial compensation. Salesforce employees get to enjoy some awesome perks, bonuses, benefits and raises. Some of these including getting a free gym membership, a free company phone, noise canceling headphones, about $50 for a monthly internet bill if you’re an engineer, discount on pretty much anything and many other bonuses. During the holidays they allow you a seven days VTO period. These are days on which you can say you volunteered and take the day off while you still get paid.
