The third video in her series explaining the making of her new self-titled album, Beyonce gives us some behind-the-scenes footage of her and Jay Z recording and filming the video for their duet, “Drunk In Love.” It’s so fun seeing Bey react to hearing Jay’s freestyle for the first time — she seems especially, uh, moved when he raps “hope you can handle this curve.” Oh, Mrs. Carter certainly can. Also, while I’m excited that she shouted out my favorite odd pronunciation in the song (SERFBORT forever!), I wish she had explained the line further. “Serfbort” is obviously “surfboard,” and when she says she’s “graining on that wood” she means “grinding,” but is she trying to say Jay’s penis is like an old-timey wooden surfboard from the 1920s as opposed to a more modern foam board? Also, do people actually put cigars on ice? Clearly I have spent a lot of time thinking about this song, but questions remain! Anyway, watch above.
