Considering all the drama surrounding Duchess of Sussex and her estranged father, Thomas Markle, royal experts believe that he will never meet his grandchild when it’s born. Whether it is true or not the time will show, but for now, it seems like Meghan and her father aren’t fixing their relationship.
The tension between them continues
One royal commentator discussed the relationship between Meghan and her father in the TLC documentary: Meghan and Harry: A Royal Baby Story and according to it their estrangement will continue even after the baby’s arrival.
In addition, author of Prince Harry: The Inside Story, Duncan Larcombe also thinks that it’s unlikely for Meghan and her father to reunite when the couple welcomes their first child.
Meghan reportedly ‘hurt the family’
Samantha, Meghan Markle’s half-sister, who is also seen un the clip from the documentary said the Duchess of Sussex has “hurt the family.”
Larcombe said in the clip: “I can’t think for a moment that Thomas Markle will ever be able to meet his grandson or granddaughter,” and Samantha added: “You can’t hurt people like this and then turn around and flip the script and play victim.”
This isn’t the first time Samantha and Thomas publicly slammed Meghan, but she hasn’t replied to any of the negative claims they made about her.
Meghan’s half-brother also spoke out
While the narrative is mainly about Meghan and her father, with Samantha commenting about her half-sister, Meghan’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr. said that Samantha is “jealous and bitter.”
He also added how he stopped talking to her years ago because she is “hard to get along with” and also that he wouldn’t believe anything she says.
Meghan’s private letter to her father became public
In August 2018, Meghan wrote a letter to her father, and earlier this year Thomas sold it to the Mail. In part, the letter goes: “If you love me… please stop lying… please stop exploiting my relationship with my husband. Your actions have broken my heart into a million pieces — not simply because you have manufactured such unnecessary and unwarranted pain, but by making the choice to not tell the truth as you are puppeteered in this. Something I will never understand.”
Meghan also wrote: “On a daily basis, you fixated and clicked on the lies they were writing about me, especially those manufactured by your other daughter, who I barely know. You watched me silently suffer at the hands of your vicious lies, I crumbled inside.”
A royal source said that Meghan is conflicted about the situation, saying: ”She cares for her dad, and has concerns for him and his mental health, which is one of the reasons she doesn’t want to comment on this. It’s a very complex, very emotional situation, and let’s not forget she is seven months pregnant.”
