Elizabeth II is surely one of the most known leaders in the world. This woman is famous for being determined and always loyal to her country and its needs. It should be also added that she is the ruler and monarch that ruled the longest in the history of the Great Britain. Apart for being known for all this, she is also known for her love for dogs, and she even has some by herself.
The favorite breed
It is widely known that the Queen’s favorite dog breed is Pembroke Welsh Corgis. They are best known for the fact that they are very cheerful dogs which have very short legs and are short by themselves. It should be state that this breed has been present in the royal family since 1933 and since Dookie and Jane, the first corgis in the royal family. It should be also added that the Queen also has some hunting dogs and that she also has the mixed breed of corgis and dachshund, called dorgis.
Susan
Susan was the first Corgi that the Queen adopted when she was 19. It should be added that the Queen loved this dog and did not separate from it even when she was on her honeymoon with Prince Philip. It was also interesting that when the Queen gave birth to Charles, Susan also brought adorable puppies into this world.
The number
The life of the Queen of England is surely not an easy one and the one without obligations. The Queen is in constant meeting, trips abroad and she also has other numerous obligations. Corgis may have been her way of relaxing and getting away from the world of meetings and politics. Furthermore, it is not untrue that she was alone on all this trips and that during some of those her dogs were her only friends. So, what is the number? It has been speculated that the Queen has had about thirty corgis during her lifetime. Queens mother also had corgis, and Elizabeth II inherited them, but they are not included in those thirty.
No more?
We should mention that the last corgi the Queen had died in 2018 and that this was the moment when the Queen decided not to have any more dogs adopted. Why? Well, she thinks practically, and she does not want to leave those dogs to someone as a burden when she dies. We need to point out that she is 92 and that she is aware of her age and of mortality being a usual and normal thing for every human. This is the reason why she does not want to leave the dogs alone in the world.
