A feeling of anxiety is when you feel worried and depressed. Anxiety is often referred to as a feeling of emotional distress and is categorized by panic attacks. Anxiety attacks involve negative and disturbing thoughts about certain things, and most of the time you will feel helpless, scared, and out of control. When you have an anxiety attack, you will experience severe somatic sensations, mostly categorized with sweating, shaking, or shortness of breath.
People suffering from some sort of anxiety disorders are well known with these symptoms. Most of the time, a person suffering from an anxiety attack will feel helpless, as if he has lost complete control of his body and thoughts.
If you are suffering from any sort of anxiety disorder, and anxiety attacks are frequent in your life, then we have compiled coping techniques that you can use to help you reduce that stress.

1. Go Out and Clear Your Mind

Whenever you start feeling anxious, the best way to reduce that stress is to put on your coat, tie your shoes, and go for a walk. Whether you are experiencing negative feeling from past events that keep you up all night, or you’re worried about something that might happen in the future, like an upcoming presentation at school, going for a walk and taking a deep breath to clear your mind is the best coping technique for anxiety attacks.
As soon as you feel that you’re losing control, go out and clear your mind. Even as far as dropping everything you’re doing and taking a deep breath can help you regain control over your body. Although, taking the time to clear your mind outdoors is the preferred way to coping with anxiety.

2. Understand What the Problem Is

Most of the time, the symptoms causing anxiety, and panic attacks, are easier to understand and figure out than what is causing them. For this reason, we recommend writing in a journal to keep you focused on the main problem and to help you try to solve it. Exploring your mind for the cause of the problem, and finding a quick solution, can help solve that problem and subsequently avoid it in the future.

3. Instead of Doing Nothing, Find a Solution

This one goes hand in hand with the previous technique. Namely, you stress because of things that have not happened, and may not even happen. This can be closely related to the security of your job or the safety of loved ones. If you fear about losing your job instead of finding a way how to keep it, you will feel stressed. And if that goes long enough, it will turn into a potentially bad problem for you. There is no point stressing about stuff that might not ever occur in your life. Your job might be completely fine, and your loved ones are completely safe. Keeping a positive tone throughout the day and focusing on problem-solving is a great way of dealing with anxiety.

Conclusion

Many Americans have experienced some sort of anxiety disorder throughout their lives. It is something that happens to everyone from time to time. However, choosing to avoid the issue instead of facing it head on, will do more harm than good. Running away from your problems will only make those problems more problematic and harder to cope. Going for a walk, or taking a simple breath, can go a long way to helping you cope with anxiety.
