Maisie Williams doesn’t have time for your labels. The Game of Thrones star is on the cover of Nylon, and she’s fresh outta fucks when it comes to society’s narrow-minded definitions of sexuality and gender. Williams, whose new film The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea is playing the Tribeca Film Festival, compares her outlook on gender and sexuality to Shailene Woodley, insofar as falling for people with no regard to gender. “‘I fall in love with personalities and not people or genders,’” she quoted Woodley. “I have no problem with anyone who would want to be labeled, but I also think that it is no one’s business… Do what you want.”
The outspoken feminist did reveal that she is dating a guy she met in school. “I feel like I’m in love right now, but I don’t know what I am going to feel like down the line. That’s why I am kind of closed-minded about marriage—I don’t even know if I want to get married.” Girl, you have plenty of time to worry about that. Stick to worrying about the Faceless Man for now.
Williams has bigger things on her mind — like what Arya Stark is up to on the next season of Game of Thrones. Although fans have been arguing until they’re icy and blue in the face about Jon Snow’s fate, one thing is certain; the Stark ladies are kicking ass and taking names this spring on HBO.
Game of Thrones returns on April 24. Read the rest of her cover story over at Nylon now.
