If you’re looking for almost an ideal summer resort, Mallorca should be topping your bucket list. It is a great place, located in an even more amazing sea, and it is home to hundreds of thousands of tourists each year. It appears easy to have a good time when you’re in one of the Balearic Islands. But, while that might be true, you should come prepared. This especially applies if you’re a first-time visitor. It is easy to get entangled in the island’s busy life while missing some important things in the process.

We are here to help you in making the most out of your Mallorca holiday. With our help, you shouldn’t have too many issues having the best vacation of your life. What’s best about this island is that you can visit at all times of the year. The climate is almost ideal, and it eagerly awaits your arrival. To make the best out of Mallorca on your arrival there, below you’ll have eight tips for first-time visitors. If 2024 is the year when you’ll be visiting for the first time you have come to the right place.

Arrange Accommodation Before Arrival

This is a piece of standard advice. But, when we talk about Mallorca and its capital Palma, you need to take good care of your accommodation. As we said, this island is home to hundreds of thousands of tourists each year. During the seasons the race for accommodation gets heavy. You need to book your stay in advance. You’re missing out on finding the right  Holiday Rentals in Majorca for yourself or overpaying for your welcome. Either way, you need to take care of things before you head out to this tropical paradise. This is a piece of sane advice you can apply to any travel you have in mind.

Book a Longer Stay

Better be safe than sorry. No one has ever regretted visiting Mallorca. You can only stay for too little; never too long. This island is a great place to be. If you have the opportunity, book a two-week stay there. Even more, it is a good option. Staying for less than ten days, you’ll miss a lot. The island has so much to offer. It has beautiful cities, beaches, restaurants, nightlife, and anything you can desire. You’re better off staying a few days longer than cutting your vacation short by arranging only a few days’ stays at Mallorca. Trust us, you won’t be bored for even a minute while there. So, make sure that you book at least a two-week stay. You won’t regret it.

Rent a Car

The Island of Mallorca is not too vast. Yes, it has plenty of surface, but if you listen to our previous advice and book a two-week stay you can explore a lot of it. The best way to do this is by renting a car. On foot, you won’t get too far. But, that’s why we have rentals. This is the best way to reach all corners of the island and make the best out of your stay there. Many tourists stick to the place where they’re staying and do not bother to explore. This is a mistake. You should rent a car and get well acquainted with this island.

Risk With the Food

We know, many people get homesick and have tummy issues when it comes to foreign cuisine. But, when in Mallorca, even if you’re a first-time visitor, you need to try their cuisine. It is a mixture of pure Mediterranean cuisine and the one close to land-Spain and Cataluña. Some parts of Mallorca are rather traditional, so if you stumble upon a small restaurant in some smaller city on the island you might find yourself being treated to traditional dishes you haven’t tasted before.

Don’t Miss Palma

The capital of the island has plenty to offer to visitors. While not your standard summer resort, you can book your stay there. Even if you’re staying outside of the capital, you need to visit it. It offers plenty of historic monuments and landmarks worth visiting. One that will sweep you off your fit is the La Seu Cathedral. In addition, your eyes should also graze upon La Almudaina, the royal palace, and other notable churches such as Santa Eulalia and Sant Francesc. If you’re into art and history you must see Es Baluard, the local museum. On the other hand, if you’re into shopping and fashion you must explore Passeig de Born and the Avenida de Jaime III.

Bring Cash With You

While we’re slowly and safely moving towards contactless payments, this form of digitalization can’t be fully applied in summer resorts such as Mallorca. Yes, you can get around by paying for everything via credit card, but it will be a wise decision to carry cash on you. There are items and services you won’t be able to pay for with cards. We’re talking about beach souvenirs, meals at some minor restaurants, and of course parking spaces if you decide to rent a car. Of course, if you get along via taxi or public transportation cash will certainly get in handy.

Follow The Flags

At the end of the day, you’ll be visiting Mallorca for its beaches and beautiful sea. Swimming and spending time in the water will be the principal activity we’re sure of. This is why it is important to follow the flags. Above all else, you need to watch out for red flags. When you see a red flag it is a clear sign that the area in question is not safe for swimming and you should avoid water. You’ll also be seeing green flags that are a sign for safety, and yellow ones that show that it’s safe to swim but under certain conditions.

Explore Culture And Language Before Your Visit

This is also another piece of advice that you can apply to any country you’re visiting. But, like any other island in the world, Mallorca is unique. So, you need to get acquainted with the culture before you visit. Also, learning a few words of Spanish will not harm you. We could argue that Spanish is one of the easiest Latin languages out there. So, learning a few phrases to ease your stay shouldn’t be an issue.
