Holidays have always been one of the best days and we tend to wait the entire year for them to finally come. It’s an amazing way of getting your family together, re-connecting with your relatives that you haven’t seen for some time and one of the best things, eating amazing home cooked food. We sometimes receive gifts from our closest family members and we also gift them something as well.

There is simply no reason to dislike the holidays. There are many religions and they all have different and unique holidays. In this article, we’re going to talk about some of them. Here’s what we think are the most interesting and unique holidays – don’t miss any of them! .

The Santa Run in Newtown – Wales

Do you think running is fun? Try running along with hundreds of Santa Clauses by your side. The Santa Running Event is a celebration that takes place in Newtown, Wales. There are over five thousand people dressed as Santa Claus racing in a seven-kilometer race. The event is charity based and truly warms your heart when you watch it happen.

The Lopburi Monkey Buffet – Thailand

Have you ever seen a monkey enjoying better food than you had today? How about dozens of them? Well, if you haven’t, it’s time to visit Thailand. Each year, every November on the last weekend, Villagers cook delicious foods in very big quantities and they throw a party for the local monkeys. They gather around and watch, take photos and have a great time while their animal friends are making everyone jealous by eating their favorite foods and sometimes even drinking Coca-Cola! We definitely advise you to visit this celebration, it’s unlike anything you’ve seen before.

There is a special Muslim holiday that takes place in Turkmenistan where the Melon is a worshipped fruit for a day. Everyone enjoys eating one and making delicious variations of deserts from it. Also, there is a variation of a crossbred melon called a Muskmelon. Why exactly these two fruits are chosen, we don’t know. Do you think any other fruit should be celebrated? Let us know!

The mud festival in South Korea

Do you like getting dirty from time to time? Well, if so, the mud festival that takes place in South Korea each year is the place for you! Before you get grossed out, we find this to be a very unique and funny holiday celebration that all of the residents enjoy. For an entire day, everyone gets muddy from head to toe and they perform various activities like zip-lining and taking funny pictures.

Dia de Los Muertos – Day of the Dead – Mexico

This “ghoulish” holiday might sound pretty creepy at first. You might be wondering why anyone would have a holiday that is dedicated to death. Well, it’s not actually about celebrating death. People gather and make masks with skeletons and ghostly themed costumes in order to pay respect to their loved ones that passed away. They also set up altars that are decorated with skulls, but they also have foods and drinks on them. We find this to be a very unique and amazing holiday.
