No one can understand better than the celebrities how can your work affect your personal life, especially for actors and actresses. When you are given a task of making out with your co-star, or to act in some dynamic relationship, this can lead to some (un)fortunate events, depending on how you look at it.
For this celebrities, some of the movie castings cost them their romantic relationships, as well as ruined their public image. Here is a list of celebrity relationships ruined because of movie castings.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck (Daredevil)

Sienna Miller and Jude Law (Layer Cake)
Jude Law cheated on Sienna Miller with their kid’s nanny, which ended their relationship, but even more, shocking thing was Miller’s affair with her Layer Cake co-star, Daniel Craig. The Telegraph stated in January 2014 that Miller said her fling with Craig “was not a relationship,’’ but “it was a very brief encounter.”
Robert Rodriguez and Elizabeth Avellán (Planet Terror)
Robert Rodriguez cast Rose McGowan for Planet Terror in 2006, which lead Rodriguez to divorce from his wife at the time. McGowan and Rodriguez even got engaged but ended things between them before they got the chance to tie the knot. Their relationship involved a lot of drama, which included McGowan’s accusations that Harley Weinstein sexually assaulted her in 1997.
“For me personally, it cost me my marriage of 16 years, my family, a large dose of sanity, and for years I have grappled with the sobering idea that maybe I made a grave error in standing up at all, when no one was even asking me to,” Rodriguez said about the whole affair. “The reason I’m saying this is because it’s very clear to me now that when someone does what Harvey Weinstein did, the devastation goes far beyond predator and victim.”
Paris Hilton and Chad Michael Murray cheating (House of Wax)
While making the horror movie, House of Wax, according to Nick Carter, his girlfriend at the time, Paris Hilton allegedly cheated on him with her co-star, Chad Michael Murray. Murray was even married to his One Tree Hill co-star Sophia Bush at the time.
Billy Crudup and Mary-Louise Parker (Stage Beauty)
Mary-Louise Parker was married for eight years to Billy Crudup, and she was even seven months pregnant when Crudup decided to divorce her so that he can be with his Stage Beauty co-star, Claire Danes in 2004. The pair broke up after four years of dating, and Danes commented on the affair to Howard Stern, “I was just in love with him. And needed to explore that and I was 24. I didn’t quite know what those consequences would be. … But it’s okay. I got through it.”
Parker didn’t officially comment on the affair, but she did write some peculiar things in her 2015 memoir Dear Mr. You, “I am pregnant and alone. It hurts to even breathe. … I’m trying to get through it but I’m by myself every night and every morning and no one, nothing helps.”
LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian cheating on their spouses (Northern Lights)
LeAnn Rimes was married to Dean Sheremet and Eddie Cibrian to Brandi Glanville. Cibrian and Glanville even had two sons together, but that didn’t stop Rimes and Cibrian to fall in love and start an affair during the making of the movie Northern Lights in 2009. They ended up marrying each other, but the drama didn’t stop.
It happens every day to so many people. And I if I take away my album sales, my words, and you have just another couple. You had two couples whose marriages didn’t work who really stumbled upon each other and fell in love,” Rimes shared with ABC News in 2010. “I can’t change [critics’] minds. Nothing I’m going to say is going to change it. I do know that and I have accepted that.” Cibrian continued, “The truth is that we’re human beings. … We make mistakes and we learn from them, but we’re human. We fell in love. We’re talking about something that’s over a year, year-and-a-half old, really and we’re still together and we’re madly in love. And I think people are finally seeing that.”
Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston (Mr. and Mrs. Smith)
According to the book Confidential: The Life of Secret Agent Turned Hollywood Tycoon – Arnon Milchan about one of Mr. And Mrs. Smith’s producers, it’s unveiled that Kidman was first cast as Pitt’s secret agent wife in the 2005 action-comedy, but that Pitt declined the role because he didn’t feel any chemistry with the Australian actress. Ultimately, Kidman’s role was recast with Jolie, and Pitt was more than happy to sign back to the movie. He was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time.
“At first, Jen didn’t believe he was involved with Angelina. She started asking around but no one would tell her anything because they were loyal to Brad, so she asked him point blank. He denied it,” a specialist of the book read. “He eventually admitted he was in love with Angelina. Jen was furious and threw him out.”
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattison (Snow White and the Huntsman)
Rupert Sanders directed the movie Snow White and the Huntsman in 2012, starring Kristen Stewart, who was in a relationship with Robert Pattison at the time. The rumors about her affair with Sanders brought more attention to the world than the movie itself. To make the matters worse, Sanders was married to model Liberty Ross, and the couple has two kids together.
“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob.” She added, “I love him … I’m so sorry,” said Stewart when confronted about the affair. They ended their relationship, and Ross filed for divorce in 2013.
