Fashion is something that gains a lot of attention these days, and when it comes to it, there are numerous choices that you can make. Some people care about what they wear, others not so much, but in general, it is quite important to choose your pieces carefully if you are trying to achieve aesthetics.

As we all know already, there are tons of different fashion styles that people know of, and new ones are being invented constantly. Since we live in modern society for a while now, people came up with some sorts of “rules” about what you should wear when you’re at a certain place. This is why we have the “work clothing style” for example.

The truth is, unless you’re working something like a policeman or a firefighter which requires you to be uniformed at all times during duty, there aren’t any rules about what you should be wearing when going for a walkout in town.

In this article, we’re going to talk about streetwear clothing, the meaning of it and a few reasons why you should consider purchasing something of this kind for your child. If you’re interested in learning some more, feel free to read until the end.

What is streetwear clothing?

If you are wondering what streetwear means, it’s a clothing style labeled as “casual”, and it can be mostly seen by members of various urban subcultures. There aren’t any rules when it comes to what falls into the streetwear category, but it is pretty common to see many hoodies, t-shirts with either custom or official brand-prints, sneakers from alternative brands and beanie hats. Of course, this can vary depending on what the person wants to wear, and as we said above, there aren’t any rules, which makes this even better.

So, what are the advantages?

Let’s get this out of the way. Nobody is forcing you to wear street-clothes, but after trying this style for a day or two, you’ll be automatically drawn to it, and here’s why.

We all want to feel comfortable while doing whatever it is that we’re doing during our days. It doesn’t matter if you’re going for a walk with your dog, or you’re going to the nearest store to purchase something for your home. Wherever you are, you want to feel comfortable, and that is one of the biggest advantages of this clothing style.

When you compare the materials that streetwear is made out of to some of the most popular choices for “work clothes”, you’ll notice that there’s a huge difference in elasticity and flexibility. Work clothes can sometimes be tight and non-flexible, so when you’re wearing them for a long time you’ll start feeling uncomfortable and frustrated. After you get used to them they become better, but until that happens you’ll have to wear them for a long time.

They’re fun and interesting

If you’re a mother, you probably care a lot about how your child feels when they’re wearing something for school or any other occasion. A child will always choose the T-Shirt with an interesting print rather than something that looks dull and “professional”.

And the most interesting part about it, kids don’t care what others think of them, so whatever looks good, they’ll choose it and wear it with pride. So, if they keep choosing oversized hoodies with fun-looking prints and baggy shoes with graffiti on them, let them have it, it’s what they want, and they’re always honest about it.

In general, streetwear is a lot more fun than any other type of clothing, both for wearing and looking at. You tend to enjoy being around a person dressed interestingly a lot more than anyone else.

It builds character

The most important part of raising a child is building character, and if you try to think of a weird reason not to purchase them something from Lucre, you’re making them think that their decision was wrong, or that they should care about what others think of them.

Most street-wear brands are trying to spread some kind of a message through their clothes, and in many cases, your child will be interested to learn more about that, and there’s nothing wrong with education, especially if it is something productive. In the past couple of months, a lot of brands making street-clothes are designing shirts with illustrations and art that is supposed to raise awareness about saving our planet, so not only you’re buying cool clothes for your child, you’re making them a better person as well.

It’s not expensive

We live in a society where ultra-expensive things are considered to be great, and everything else is just not “good enough”. As a mother, you are probably aware of the things your child is doing, so instead of letting them focus on what celebrities wear and create unrealistic expectations in their mind about how life should be, try to introduce them to streetwear brands and explain to them that clothes are not what matters the most in life.

Streetwear is accepted

Once again, the entire point of streetwear is to be individual, independent and not care about what others think. However, your child might not be on this level of thinking yet, but you can slowly help them achieve it by allowing them to dress differently and see that there’s nothing wrong with it. Besides, streetwear is slowly becoming accepted everywhere, and in most modern countries, people are allowed to dress like this even on their work positions.

What we’re trying to say is, if your child likes to purchase something from a streetwear brand, don’t be concerned about them not being allowed to wear this in school or anywhere else, because those times are long gone, and not only they’re allowed to wear it, they’ll most likely receive compliments for it as well.

Building your style

As your child keeps growing, they slowly build character and shape into the person they want to be. Well, this can be “promoted” through streetwear as well. Why? Because there are no rules in this clothing style. You can highly customize everything and choose a different piece from any collection that you want, and still make it look amazing in the end.
