Are you and your girlfriend planning a little getaway trip? You two probably want to have a blast while just relaxing and enjoy the moment. You have the whole world at your feet and there a lot of fun and exciting destinations you can visit. One of those fun and exciting destinations is undoubtedly Eastern Europe.
In full honesty, we rarely hear about this part of the world in our everyday life. But the thing is that this part of the world is becoming one of the biggest tourist attractions in the world. Eastern Europe has been through some major reforms. And in a good way. One of the countries that most successfully implemented them is a place of Count Dracula that touches the Black Sea. Romania is one of the biggest expanding tourist destinations because it’s full of natural riches, great cities, phenomenal architecture and one of the craziest and exciting nightlife scenes in the whole Eastern part of Europe. It’s diverse in culture, multi-ethnic, and full of wonders! So bear with me for a moment while I guide you through the beauties of Romania.
Bucharest
Bucharest is the capital of Romania and the largest city with the best exciting nightlife activities you can find. Their clubbing industry is one of the fastest growing, offering a variety of pubs, clubs, bars and a lot more that could be of interest for any party goer. The prices there are very affordable and the entrance fee is usually below 5 euros wherever you plan to go. The best part is that you can party till dawn! And I’m betting that this will definitely help you to blow off some steam.
Bucharest has that contagious party fever that will keep you dancing all night! And what better way to spend your time with your girlfriends than by dancing the stress away. Romanians are really hospitable, generous and a majority of them speak English very well. So there is a 100% chance you will meet some of the locals that will be more than happy to show you around. And, if you’re single maybe even spark up a romance, after all, the beauty of Romanian ladies will certainly charm you.
Besides the crazy party scene, Bucharest has some of the most unique historical landmarks. Ever heard of the Palace of Parliament? The second largest administrative building in the world is absolutely breathtaking. Also, there are a variety of museums that you can visit, such as the National Museum Of Art which is filled with historical treasures, including painting, sculptures, manuscripts, and icons.
You can also see a lot of beautiful ancient Christian Orthodox churches dating back to the 15th century. Moreover, Bucharest has the largest indoor beach complex in Europe. Next to it is a beautiful botanical garden with more than 800.000 plants that will be a surrounding that will come as a remedy after long nights of having fun.
Breathtaking Nature
Romania is filled with beautiful landscapes that will take you out of this world! Outside of the capital, you can breathe the Carpathian fresh air. Many nature-loving tourists choose to visit Romania because of its breathtaking and picturesque sights. There is a particular magnificent place I think you should absolutely visit. The Decébalo Statue in Orsova. This rock sculpture represents Decebalus, the last king of Dacia. It is located on the Serbian border, near the small town of Orosova. To witness this magnificent statue you will have to get on a boat because that is the only way you can actually reach it.
This monument is 55m long, and the fascinating part is that no one knows how it got there in the first place. The statue is surrounded by wonderful nature to say at least. With this statue and all the nature around you, you’ll feel like you’re in an episode of some epic medieval fantasy. Besides if you decide that you want to stay in the city, Bucharest has a lot of natural parks and gardens you can enjoy. They offer boat cruizing and bike riding that will come as a great relaxation opportunity. And if you really want to get your heart racing you can even go skydiving!
Magnificent cuisine
Romanians are pretty family-oriented and love those big family gatherings. And where there is a bunch of people, there is going to be even more food and drinks! It can be said that the locals never miss the opportunity to relax and enjoy their meal. The great part is that in Bucharest there are a lot of country food producers that produce fresh and tasty organic food.
When you visit a country this far, you mustn’t miss the opportunity to taste the local traditional food. And I assure you, you’ll be ordering the second round! Romanians are well known for their delicious savoury stews, soups, Meech, and Sarmale. And don’t get me started on the delicious flavoury sweetness of their homemade desserts. The great chances are that you will leave the country with a few pounds added to your body.
As for the drinks, all the wine lovers will fall in love with these countries wine industry. Here you will taste some of the best wines ever and I’m not exaggerating! At the end of the trip, you’ll go and get a few bottles to bring back home to share with your loved ones while telling them the stories from your Romanian adventure.
Final Words
Experiencing Romania will open up a new perspective on the overall culture of Eastern Europe. You will fall in love with their temperament, generosity, music, and lifestyle. I’m sure when you get back home you’ll be full of exciting tales to tell and a wish to visit this amazing place once more.
