If you happened to be a non-traditional learner and wanted to finish college faster, then boy do we have the article for you.

If you’re in college, then it is your responsibility to finish it. While we do agree that this form of education shouldn’t define you as a person nor eliminate your options in the future, you should definitely finish it if you’re serious about it.

But let’s not fool ourselves; getting a degree isn’t as easy as it sounds. With all that said, there are ways to get your diploma faster than the normal means, and we will explore those ways in this article.

  • 2. Do Some Testing
  • 3. Online Or Blended Classes
  • 4. Take a Year-Round Schedule

  • 6. Competency-Based Learning Programs

1. Coursework In High School

This is probably the easiest way to finish college faster, however, for many, the ship has already sailed. If you’re a concerned dude or gal that’s in their final year of high school, then this one can serve you well.

But if you’re failing your classes and looking for a way to get back on track, this tip is pointless for you.

With all that said you could do coursework in high school and enroll in placements such as AP or IB. If you successfully finish these placements, then you’ll be rewarded for your effort in the form of college credits that will come in hand later on.

2. Do Some Testing

Many institutions across the States have a thing called “test out”. This is implemented to help students save time by allowing them to take the exam and hopefully pass it.

This might sound like nothing special, but test outs allow students to pass the exam without taking the course. Passing it awards you the necessary credits, making it one of the best ways to save time.

With all that said the fact that you have to pass the exam means you have to know the subject. And while this way might be practical, it is still one of the hardest means to finish college faster.

3. Online Or Blended Classes

Many colleges across the States offer undergraduates the option of attending online classes or blended class, which is a funny word for part online part classroom classes.

However, most of you have no idea that your college offers this way of learning or class attending. But, would you agree that attending online classes saves a lot of time? Not only does it save you time from actually going to class, but it’s also quite convenient.

Lots of undergrads that attend online or blended classes save a lot of time on unnecessary things. This, ultimately, makes it easier and faster for you to pass the course. Sites like LitPriest.com are a free additional educational resource, providing study guides for students of English literature. It covers a lot of genres including poetry, novels, essays, short stories, and plays.

4. Take a Year-Round Schedule

If you’re particularly eager to finish college as soon as possible, then you should consider attending summer school. Every student’s biggest nightmare comes into fruition every time someone mentioned summer school.

However, the negative stigma surrounding summer schools are quick to disappear in the past few years. Summer schools are excellent for knocking off a few credits here and there. It allows you to pass exams and ultimately finish college faster.

And while we do agree that no one really wants to end up lucked in their room studying for exams while everyone else is out there having a blast, it’s a great way to catch up on lost credits and move upper in the chain.

An even better option to finish college faster in 2022 is to use services that prepare you for your exams. One such service is instantcert.com, where they can prepare you for any course ranging from biology to English literature, business, and even religion. Truthfully speaking, their ranges of courses are out of this world, and chances are you’ll find the course you’ll want to pass this summer.

5. Capitalize Outside the Classroom

If you happened to have real-world experience in certain fields, then your college might recognize that experience and reward you credits for it.

This is a relatively new form of accreditation that colleges are starting to implement. Experts agree that real-life experience is much more valuable than simply learning from a book, so if you manage to impress your college with a particular job then you might be rewarded for your efforts.

However, there are also various ways to approach this. First, we should mention that the likelihood of you being awarded credits based on showing them a piece of paper that you’ve done well are very slim.

What you should expect from this is to actually be given the chance to impress given your expertise, rather than simply be rewarded the credits.

Also, it wouldn’t hurt to mention that military experience is well rewarded in the United States, and some colleges reward credits for classes closely tied with working abroad.

If you happened to work abroad in Italy for a few years, then you might be awarded the credits to pass Italian 101. Also, certain colleges will allow a company to vouch for a student if that student is well versed in the course at hand.

6. Competency-Based Learning Programs

A relatively new way of finishing college faster is to explore the option of competency-based learning programs.

This is something that should be explored prior to going to a certain college. These programs are sort of like college, but they let you learn at your own pace and let you take exams whenever you like.

If you’re a determined soul, then chances are you’ll finish it much faster than normally anticipated. This is because you won’t have to attend any classes and can take exams whenever you want.

You’ll take the time needed to master the class or finish the assignment and dictate the pace at which you’ll finish college. These programs are known for saving students a lot of time and are becoming very popular in the past few years.

Competency-based programs are getting nationwide awareness since they eliminate some of the problems undergrads face with the highest-education scene in the United States.
