Why is Prince Harry’s and Meghan Markle’s nursery in neutral colors?

In October 2018, Kensington Palace announced, “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.” Meghan Markle is now in her third trimester, and the royal couple is preparing to move to their new home, Frogmore House. They are also close to finishing the nursery. Royal insider Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight, “Behind the scenes, she and Harry are really happy at the moment. They are super excited about the spring birth of their baby. [Meghan] has told friends that this is the most exciting [time], the happiest period in her life… I’m told that she is upbeat and that she is happy.”

The color of the nursery

The new home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has ten bedrooms, the nursery, a gym and a yoga studio. For the nursery, Nicholl revealed, “Don’t expect to see any baby pink or baby blue. Apparently, it’s going to be a monochrome palette—whites and grays, I’m told, will be the color theme for baby Sussex’s nursery.”

Why is it in neutral colors

The royal rule says that the gender of the baby mustn’t be revealed until the baby is born. Since Meghan and Prince Harry don’t know what gender their baby will be, they decided to go for neutral colors for the nursery. Nicholl stated, “They’ve decided not to find out the sex, but according to sources who are helping with [their new home] renovations, the nursery itself is going to be very modern.” Meghan and Prince Harry are known feminists, and they say that neither gender should be put in a box, and that is why it feels natural that they decided not to decorate the nursery in pink or blue as many people do. Neutral colors make it easier to redecorate once the baby gets older.

Due date

For now, we can only wonder when the baby Sussex will arrive. However, during Meghan and Harry’s visit to Birkenhead during their first public appearance of 2019, Meghan gave some clues on when the baby is supposed to arrive. A woman named Carla Gandy was there, with her four-year-old daughter, and Gandy shared with People, “We asked her how her pregnancy was going, and she said she was six months and she tapped her tummy.” So, we can expect baby Sussex to arrive at the end of April or at the beginning of May.

Why are they moving to Frogmore House

Meghan and Prince Harry decided to move to Frogmore House in order to have some peace and tranquility once the baby comes. They also want to come out of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s shadow and have a life of their own, and Frogmore House is just the place to do it since it is located an hour away from London.
