The concept behind Today in History lite edition

History is as old as the world we live in and with thousands of events having unraveled over the course of time and many others at this very moment, it becomes an uphill affair to keep up with the ongoings around us. This app, however, serves to always keep you in the loop providing a new revitalized way of history telling that deviates from the bland nature of standard history apps of these days. All this is within your grasp

Features of the app

It would be an understatement to say this application has a lot to offer because that doesn’t quite do it justice. That said, Today in History is brimming with the following capabilities:

•  History on the go: Those with apple watches are able to get regular updates whilst keeping up with their activities of the day.

•  Quotes of the day: Many iconic phrases have been uttered across existence by legendary figures and this app provides you with an endless supply of unforgettable quotes by the influencers of yesteryears and the present age.

•  Headlines: A section that depicts major happenings that have shaken the world.

•  A library encompassing upwards of 100,000 events with that figure rising daily.

•  An alluring and sleek design that keeps you hooked for hours on end.

•  Customizable reminders that serve up epic notifications according to your specifications.

Other features include a share functionality that lets you share with friends across social media platforms and a widget that avails a daily feed broken down into categories offering snippets of events with links to the full scope.

How it works

The app is simple to use with the interface very straightforward in terms of navigation and arrangement. The home screen avails five options in a dark row on the bottom edge that provides a selection between various categories. You can choose one of “Headlines”, “Events”, ”Births”, ”Deaths ” or “Holiday” to get access to past information in line with the category of choice. There is also a search bar on the opposite end that lets you specifically look up what you want to know.  In case you want to check out more details, go on this website.

Why it stands out from the crowd

Today in History lite edition offers an immersive experience that is a breath of fresh air in a digital age where the definition of the modern day history app is a list of facts and dates in lifeless fashion. The developers incorporate an enthralling use of images and design aesthetics to come up with a unique way of storytelling that gives you a front seat back in time. It’s like opening a digital library of past centuries that lets you walk in the midst of all known books to us picking out what you fancy whilst stumbling across bewildering facts you didn’t even know existed. History buffs will definitely agree that the iPad has been sorely lacking in such an app, and Today in History lite edition finally offers a historical application worthy of the platform. A rating of 4.3/5 on the Apple app store is a solid testament to that fact.
