Following the alleged affair Prince William had with Rose Hanbury, many royal fans started wondering what will happen if Duke and Duchess of Cambridge divorce. This is, of course, far from certain and highly hypothetical at this moment, but is the worst happens, this would be the consequences.

Kate Couldn’t Move to Another Country
If divorced, Kate would need Prince William’s permission to move the kids outside the UK. She probably wouldn’t want that in the first place, but with divorces you never know. Things can get rather ugly.
Prince William Would Have to Pay Alimony
Prince William would be legally obliged to provide financial support for Kate and children, but the amount of it would probably be far less than in previous cases of royal divorces since the couple has been married only since 2011.
Paparazzies Would Have a Field Day
Despite the divorce, Kate would probably become an even larger target for paparazzi, similar to what Princess Diana went through after her divorce.
Queen’s Involvement
Unlike marriages, the Queen doesn’t have to approve divorces. She would obviously get involved, just like she did when she ordered Charles and Dianna to divorce. Her Majesty also has the power to strip Kate of all her titles, but since she left Diana with the title of Princess, she would probably allow Kate to remain Duchess.
Prince William’s remarriage
The Church of England doesn’t approve divorces and since the Queen is the head of the church, Prince William would have a hard time securing her permission for another marriage. The Queen did allow a few people from her family to remarry, but none of them was an heir to the throne.
