It’s bizarre to hear the words “mullet” and “trend” in the same sentence, but here it goes: mullet skirts, in all of their business in the back/party out front (I guess that makes it more of a reverse mullet) glory, are a huge trend right now. Its inception, like that of most trends, was on the runway: the style was almost unprecedentedly popular during the Spring/Summer 2012 season, shown in some incarnation at Thakoon, Alexander McQueen, Diane Von Furstenberg, DKNY, and more. It didn’t take long after for celebrities and fashionistas alike to pick up on what is technically called the “high-low” skirt. Some pull it off well, while others… don’t pull it off at all. It’s definitely a tricky trend to master for anyone, but the real question is, would you be down to give it a shot?
