Have you gotten to the point where you are fed up with how much you are paying on healthcare? If so, then let’s do something about it today. Let’s learn awesome ways that you can start saving on healthcare.
Take care of your body
The time to start taking care of yourself is now. If you say that you are going to wait until next week, then that is going to turn into next month. If you say that you are going to wait until next month, then that is going to turn into next year. Start today! Do all that you can to improve on your health. What you put into your body today is going to have an effect on your body tomorrow.
Cut down on all of those expensive and harmful processed foods. Drink an adequate amount of water throughout the day. Are you struggling with sleep? This is an issue that must be tackled now because over time your body will pay the price. Shut off your TV and your phone earlier so these things won’t impede your sleep.
Invest in a gym membership. Your body will thank you later. Get some exercise and shed some pounds. Here is an important one. Stop smoking! I understand that it is easier said than done. However, you should be making a conscious effort to stop. If you struggle with smoking and you wish to quit, then don’t be around other smokers which can be a temptation for you.
The best way to save on health care is to remain as healthy as possible. Creating healthy habits is something that we all need to get better at including myself. I might be strong in some areas, but there are some areas in which I lack in. I excel at working out, but I still need to work on creating a better sleeping pattern.
The first step to taking care if your body is admitting that you need help in a certain area. Now you will be able to find the answer to your problems.
Shop around for different healthcare options
First, you must know it’s a different in UK and US!
I don’t understand why many people are afraid to shop around. If you are tired of your current situation, then you have to get up and do something about it. It’s either you stay and remain overwhelmed by your bill, or you can do something about it that will change your future. One of my favorite quotes is, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
There are so many different health insurance providers out there such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, Ambetter, United Healthcare, and more. Compare providers to see which company offers you the coverage that you need at the best price. Another thing that you can do is try an alternative healthcare option such as Medi-Share. I know what you are thinking, what is Medi-Share and how does it work?
Medi-Share is one of the most popular sharing ministries and it is known for helping people to save thousands a year on health. With a sharing ministry, you will share someone’s bill and others will share your bills. Sharing ministries don’t have the same costs as traditional healthcare providers reducing healthcare costs for you. I must note that sharing ministries are not insurance companies and they may not accept all of your claims. However, there is a strong chance that you will be able to save over $2000 a year.
Use generic drugs
I’ve learned that the generic drugs work just as well. The only reason why we use the name brand stuff is that they are familiar to us. We assume that just because they are name brand that means that they must be better somehow. However, this is far from the truth, and this type of thinking will cost us a lot of money.
Don’t be afraid to go generic to better aid your pockets. The great things about generic drugs are that they are cheaper, they are FDA approved, and the ingredients are the same as the well-known brands.
