True Thompson
On Instagram, Kris Jenner explained that her grandfather on her dad’s side was named True, which is where Khloé got the name from. “My Grandfather’s name on my Dad’s side was True Otis Houghton….my Dad’s name was Robert True Houghton…so I am so excited Khloe named her daughter True!!!” Also, Kris’ father’s middle name was True.
Stormi Webster
She is Stormi with an I. For the Evening Standard‘s May cover, Kim Kardashian West questioned Kylie Jenner about the source of Stormi. “I really don’t know how we thought of Storm. Her dad insisted it was him, but I feel like it was me. And that kind of just stuck with us,” Kylie said. She continued, “And then I didn’t really like just Storm — I didn’t feel like that was her name. So then it became Stormi. And it just stuck. I feel like there were a lot of other names that I might have even liked better, to be honest, but I feel like Stormi picked her own name, like it was just her name.”
Chicago West
It is where Kanye West grew up. Many fans also believe that Chicago is a tribute to West’s mother, Donda, who raised him there and died in 2007.
Dream Renée Kardashian
“They named her Dream because they’ve always said she’s a dream come true,” an insider told People about Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s baby. Dream’s middle name, Renée, is after her mom, whose real name is Angela Renée White.
Saint West
An E! News insider reports the couple named their son Saint because they thought of him as a blessing through Kardashian West’s complicated pregnancy.
Reign Aston Disick
In an interview with People, Kourtney explained that she had been thinking of the name since she was pregnant with her first child, Mason. The name came up again when Kourtney was pregnant with her second baby, Penelope, but she spelled it “Rain.” When her baby turned out to be a son, she changed the spelling to “Reign.” “Once I found out I was having a boy, we just changed the spelling again,” Kourtney said. As for Reign’s middle name, Kourtney wanted something that began with an A, so his initials would spell out R.A.D.
North West
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Kardashian West explained that Pharrell Williams originally asked the couple if they were going to name their child North. After Anna Wintour later came to the couple with the same suggestion, Kim and Kanye made a decision to name their child North. “She told us, ‘North is a genius name.’ Kanye and I looked at one another and just laughed. I guess at that point it sort of stuck,” Kim said.
Penelope Scotland Disick
Penelope was born because Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick thought the name was adorable. As for Penelope’s middle name, Scotland, it was Kris’ idea who pitched it as an inclination to Penelope’s dad’s first name, Scott.
Mason Dash Disick
“Right before he was born, I told my aunt we were thinking about going with that for a name. She told me that Mason means the same thing in English that Kardashian means in Armenian — stone worker,” Kourtney explained to MTV. “Another aunt told me my great uncle used to use the name Mason when he made dinner reservations because Kardashian was too long.” About his middle name, “Dash is short for Kardashian, and it was my father’s nickname,” Kourtney said.
