The start of the year was a few months ago and despite your new year’s resolutions to start eating healthier; you are still back to your old habits of eating junk food and burgers.
You might have broken your resolution, but there is still hope for you. If you are here because you want to start eating healthier, then stick around as we are going to give you some dietary tips and supplements to start.
1. Fish Oil
Fish Oils are very healthy for you, and while previous iterations of fish oil supplements do get a bad rep for their bad smell, fish oil is rich in something that is called Omega 3.
Omega 3 fatty acids are predominately found in saltwater fish and are good for multiple things. Omega 3 fatty acids are excellent for your cholesterol levels, blood pressure, triglycerides, prevents the formation of plaques in your arteries, and many more.
Furthermore, some scientific studies have found that Omega 3 greatly supports the function of your thyroid, which leads to a more balanced metabolism, which leads to weight loss.
2. Magnesium
The human body is full of magnesium, and it’s a fact that magnesium is the second most abundant element in our body. Magnesium is one of the most important dietary nutrients because it regulates the work of more than 300 biochemical functions. Lots of diet tips include magnesium because it regulates the breakdown of fat inside our body, improves cardiovascular health, muscle contraction, and many more.
There have been many scientific papers that have found magnesium to promote better sleep, and as you might know, good sleep is vital for weight loss. Being able to stay fresh each day also increases your motivation for undergoing such a lifestyle change.
3. Probiotics
Probiotics are excellent for your diet because they are composed of live, good, bacteria that help us with stomach acids. If you’ve had too much diverse food over the holidays, Probiotics can help restore the good and bad bacteria ratio inside your stomach and bring balance to your system.
As you might know, a bad gut can drastically decrease your mood, cause anxiety, damage to teeth and gums, and many more. Probiotics can also help with weight loss as some research papers have found Probiotics to work best with yogurt. In those research papers, participants managed to reduce body fat by 4%!
4. Calcium
Everyone knows calcium is good for the bones, however, did you know that calcium is also good for your muscles and nerve communication? While it’s tempting to go dairy-free (because of all the potential health benefits), you will lose on the much-needed calcium. Calcium is found in dairy products such as milk, yogurt, cheese, and many more, and the regular intake by adults should be between 1.000 and 1.300 mg of calcium per day.
While calcium is predominantly found in dairy products, it’s also found in tofu, orange juice, broccoli, kale, almonds, and figs.
5. Vitamin D
Vitamin D is important for your diet because it supports weight loss and promotes bone health. What’s more interesting is that if your body lacks Vitamin D, it will convert sugar to fat instead of energy – meaning you will gain weight. Vitamin D is predominantly found in salmon, eggs, and tuna; however, you can always take Vitamin D supplements in order to provide your body with sufficient levels.
Furthermore, Vitamin D promotes a happier mood, as found by lots of research, by activating the release of serotonin and dopamine.
