There are a lot of mistakes even experienced web content writers make. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been making content, you’re always learning. High-quality content is crucial in marketing and brand building of any business. The content is what drives search engine results and works to increase the traffic on your website so it has to be clear and concise instead of confusing and unsystematic. Unnecessary information and words can steal the readers’ attention away from the message and the core of the content. From the moment the user visits your website, it should take them approximately a minute, or even less, to figure out what is your business and website about. More than that and the visitors can get annoyed and leave.

Be clear and concise
Your landing page should have simple and clear sentences in which you’re explaining, in not much detail, what is it you have to offer. The content needs to be written in such a fashion that anyone reading it can understand it. And I truly mean everyone, from teenagers to people over 60 years of age. Don’t fill your page with unnecessary info and noise that will drive the visitors away from your site. Also, you don’t want to overdo it with keywords since that can make the content more confusing for the readers.
Do the keyword research for SEO
You have to clearly define what you’re going to write about. By starting with SEO keyword research, you find out what are the topics that Google sees as relevant. It will let you know what are the good and bad sides of your content strategy.
Know your target audience
Don’t start making any content before you defined your audience. There’s no point in writing if you don’t understand who you’re writing the content for. Keep in mind that besides your primary audience, you’re writing for your secondary audience as well. That technically means that your primary and secondary audience can influence each other increasing that way the traffic on your website.
Use active voice
Active voice is good for getting people to do what you want them to do. Instead of explaining how something can be done in a certain way, say that they can do it. And then you have to make it as easy and intuitive as possible for them to do the thing. Call to action is one of the main tools for increasing the conversion rate on your website.
Put the most important information on top and make the text easy for readers to scan
Visitors want to see the most important information first instead of searching for it. The majority of your audience won’t even bother with searching for the info, but will instead leave the site. Also, make lists. Lists make it easy for the reader to skim through the text and see if it’s what they were looking for. Remember, your goal is to get users to do whatever it is you need them to do on your website as fast as possible.
