August 8th is International Cat Day, also known as World Cat Day and is very important to all of us here at The Frisky because we are on the internet and we love cats, duh.
Grumpy Cat memes have clearly dominated the market for cat appreciation, but there is just so much more out there and we are here today to tell you about the very diverse world of cats on the internet:
- There is a new online cat magazine based in Brooklyn, NY called Meow Quarterly. Very exciting!
- The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, will be hosting its fourth annual Internet Cat Video Festival on August 12.
- The Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, Queens is opening an exhibition called “How Cats Took Over the Internet,” which opened yesterday in fact.
All hail our overlords, the true rulers of the internet.
