Hugh van Cutsem Sr. and Prince Charles met at Cambridge, and they became close friends. Prince Charles is even the godfather William van Cutsem’s brother, Edward, and Edward was a pageboy for Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding. William van Cutsem, Hugh’s son, met Prince William on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk where he grew up. They have been friend ever since and Prince William was William van Cutsem’s usher at his wedding with Rosie Ruck Keene in 2013. William van Cutsem is a godfather to Prince George, Prince William’s first child.
