Different types of eggs reward different amounts of Stardust. 2 km eggs reward between 400 and 800 Stardust, 5 km eggs reward between 800 and 1600 Stardust, same as 7 km eggs, and 10 km eggs reward between 1600 and 3200 Stardust.

Method 2: Catching Pokemon
There is a benefit to catching Pokemon, apart from the actual Pokemon, and that is because you also gain Stardust for each Pokemon caught. Although the yields are not as much as hatching eggs, it is a faster and more consistent way of gaining Stardust.
