Sully the tabby cat is a hero after rescuing her owner Craig Geeves from a fire in his home in a Melbourne, Australia suburb. Craig was asleep when the fire began around 1 a.m. on Monday. Sully sat on Craig’s chest meowing loudly in his face to wake him. Craig told the Australian Broadcasting Company, “She was standing on my head screaming, the loudest scream I’ve ever heard from a cat screaming at me and then I smelt the smoke and jumped out of bed … she saved my life.”
Craig ran outside with Sully in his arms. “I just just held her, she was scared as, she was hunkering down into me and I took her up to the neighbours and they took care of her for the night.” The house was irreversibly damaged, but firefighters were able to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby homes. Hopefully cute little Sully will be getting extra treats this week!
