Cavalli designers join Mexico’s finest, Gilda Garza for an incredible Kings and Queens art Basel show.
Gilda Garza’s reputation proceeds her as not only a prominent up and coming artist to watch but also as the host of some of the top art events in the USA. With 2018 seeing exhibitions in Vegas, Los Angeles, and Arizona, celebrities, the social elite, and art lovers, were all hoping for an invite to Gilda’s Art Basel event.
Miami Art Basel is the premier art show in America, connecting collectors, galleries, artists and art lovers from across the globe. For the third year running, Gilda Gaza placed herself as one of the hottest tickets in town for the week. This year’s event, (Kings & Queens), taking place at Miami‘s hotspot, newly opened restaurant, Swan, was a testament to exactly why Garza and her art are gaining notoriety.
Roberto Cavalli head designer, Enrico Agus was in attendance, with Garza wearing one of his bespoke evening gowns. Also, on display at the exhibition is a custom, one of a kind Cavalli denim jacket adorned with Gilda Garza artwork valued at $30,000.
There were 12 pieces of Garza’s Kings and Queens series on display at the event. The vibrant collection pays homage to the love that two people can feel for each other, boundless worship of affection and unconditional love. Many pieces sold on the night, with one fetching just over $50,000.
Gilda takes her inspiration from women she has met that radiate beauty both externally and internally.
Having come from one of the most dangerous places in Mexico, Sinaloa, Gilda was surrounded by war and kidnappings of family members. Gilda is able to reveal all of these raw emotions from these atrocities by reaching into the depths of her soul in order to give life to beauty and pain on the canvas.
Gilda became only the second artist ever behind Andy Warhol to have their artwork featured on the front cover of Playboy Magazine. With art and fashion combined, Gilda was honored to have some of her work designed onto a one of a kind Cavalli piece. Gilda also painted her work on one of Nicole Miller’s designs, a piece that opened the catwalk show at Scottsdale fashion week.
With exhibitions and events being lined up in Aspen, London, Los Angeles, New York, and collaborations at Scottsdale fashion week of 2019, it is set to be a huge year for Gilda Garza and her art.
