One of the unmistakable trends of the past decade has been the increasing public acceptance of hemp and cannabis-related products and an increasing desire to integrate them into our daily lives. While marijuana has gotten much of the attention, CBD and CBD products have become more popular, less controversial, and more widely used. As such, the hemp flower has never been more popular, and a variety of evidence indicates that the hemp flower can be very helpful.

What Is Hemp Flower?

Hemp flower is dried hemp buds and comes from the Cannabis Sativa plant. Don’t let the name confuse you: Legally purchased and sold hemp contains no more than .3% THC or tetrahydrocannabinol. THC is best known as the type of cannabinoid found in marijuana, but the amount in hemp flowers is far too low to result in any sort of intoxication. In essence, hemp is the legal classification of cannabis that contains less than point 3 percent THC.

Hemp flowers remained largely classified in the same category as marijuana in the United States until the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill. That legalization removed hemp and CBD from the United States Food & Drug Administration’s list of schedule one drugs, essentially clearing the way for the compound to be purchased, sold, and transported in the United States. Innovative online companies like Cannaflower will even mail it directly to your doorstep in all 50 states after ordering it from their website.

In addition to being federally legal, hemp flowers are also high in CBD or cannabidiol. CBD is another type of cannabinoid that has become increasingly popular over the past two years, with an estimated one in three Americans trying the product. More study is needed before any formal medical claims can be made, but a variety of scientific research has indicated that there may be numerous emotional and physical benefits associated with consuming CBD.

What Are The Benefits Of Hemp Flower?

The science on CBD hemp flower and other CBD products continues to evolve, and the recent change in federal law has allowed for more organizations to legally research the substance. However, some studies have indicated that CBD hemp flower may be capable of assisting people in dealing with numerous problems. These include:

  • Pain relief

One of CBD hemp flower’s biggest potential uses is pain relief. CBD products have been studied and found to potentially be helpful at relieving a variety of types of pain, including pain caused by arthritis, multiple sclerosis spasticity, and cancer treatment. Additional research has found that CBD has the potential to be helpful in dealing with nerve pain.

  • Inflammation relief

One of CBD’s more researched benefits is its potential ability to reduce inflammation. When applied topically, studies have found that CBD can help reduce skin inflammation. A 2009 review examined available literature and found that CBD, when ingested, can potentially reduce many types of inflammation. There are many theories about why this is the case, but one holds that CBD can potentially reduce inflammation caused by oxidative stress. It is also worth noting that the same inflammation reductions may be responsible for pain reduction, as inflammation and pain often work hand in hand.

  • Mood & stress improvement

Again, more study is needed, but CBD hemp flower appears to be capable of helping to improve mood and provide stress relief. Formal reviews have found that CBD is capable of potentially providing relief from depression. For example, a 2014 review found that CBD has properties that can be associated with mood improvement and reductions in depression or anxiety. Another study in animals – this one from 2019 – found that CBD has the ability to improve depressive symptoms in a way that is both speedy and sustained. A 2018 study in Frontiers of Immunology determined that CBD could also be useful for stress reduction.

How Can You Use Hemp Flowers?

There are many ways that you can use CBD Hemp Flowers, but the two easiest ones include:

Smoking or vaping

If processed appropriately, dried hemp can be placed into a vaping pen and smoked. You can also roll CBD hemp flower and smoke it that way. On one hand, smoking CBD is the quickest way to ingest the substance, and you may feel its effects minutes after smoking it. However, smoking a substance obviously carries risks, and there has been no shortage of concerns over the dangers of vaping a product.

Consumed

Again, it depends on the way that the flower is processed, but you can absolutely consume hemp flower. There are many ways you can do this, including adding CBD hemp flower into recipes. Thankfully, there is no shortage of such recipes. The flower does need to be heated or cooked prior to consumption in order for it to be truly effective. The one potential problem with consuming CBD hemp flower is that it will take time for it to work – potentially as long as an hour or so, depending on your metabolism and contents of your stomach. It is also better for more “generalized” concerns like the ones listed above.

There are also more advanced ways to consume CBD hemp flower, including putting it into cannabutter or making your own capsules. However, if you’re a beginner and want to get started with CBD hemp flower, smoking or vaping in a dry herb vaporizer is the best way to go.

Since hemp flower is federally legal in all 50 states, new options have opened up for consumers looking to benefit from its therapeutic qualities. Some companies have embraced a farm to table model which delivers premium quality hemp flower directly to the consumer by bringing ordering online. A package shows up within a few days delivered right to your door in trendy and discreet packaging.

Hemp flowers can be used for a variety of therapeutic reasons. Furthermore, one of the huge advantages of hemp flowers is that they are flexible – they can be eaten or smoked often with many of the benefits of traditional cannabis. CBD Hemp flowers are perfectly legal, but like any other supplement, you should speak with a medical professional before trying it. The research is certainly still continuing, but findings so far have been very positive.
