Movie Vs Real Life: How Iconic Females Portrayed In Movies Looked Like in Real Life

In many movies, we are used to see females fatales often enchant men who would then do anything for their love, but in real life things are not that simple. Most of the women who became iconic characters had more than just appearance. We made a list of some of these famous females with pictures of how they looked in real life. So let’s take a look, some of them might surprise you.

Bonnie Parker

We have all heard of Bonnie and Clyde, the famous couple of robbers, who did their work during the Great Depression in the US. Bonnie Parker was a waitress. She didn’t like her life, and meeting Clyde Barrow in the house of a mutual friend, changed her perception of things. The newspapers were accusing her of being a cop murderer next to being a robber, but it was never proven that she did any of that. Bonnie and Clyde movie (1967) received 2 Oscar awards. Bonnie was portrayed by Faye Dunaway.

Lina Cavalieri

An Italian opera singer was also one of the first photo models. She started her singing career in restaurants. Lina was the great love of Aleksandr Ivanovich Baryatinsky, who didn’t have a permission from an emperor to marry her. Lina Cavalieri was married several times, but all of her marriages were unhappy. In movie Beautiful but Dangerous, Lina was portrayed by Gina Lollobrigida.

Barbara Radziwill

The Queen of Poland and Grand Duchess of Lithuania, Barbara Radziwill, was married to Sigismund II Augustus. The rumor has it that her mother-in-law, Bona Sforza, hated her to the point she poisoned her. When Barbara died, Sigismund II never spoke to his mother again. He organized a spiritual seance at the Nesvizh Castle, just to be able to see the love of his life one more time. He even promised her that he would die in the same castle, so that they would be together in after life. His promise wasn’t kept, and since he died in Knyszyn, it is believed that their souls are forever apart. An Epitaph For Barbara Radziwill told the story of this Polish Queen, and she was portrayed by Anna Dymna.

 

Anne Boleyn

English King Henry VIII’s second wife was Anne Boleyn. At that time, divorce wasn’t an easy option, especially for royals, but Henry VIII’s love for Anne was powerful enough for him to do anything. After their engagement, Anne’s bad side came to the light. She loved indulgents parties and spending money, and also living scandalous life. After realizing everything, Henry VIII found new mistress, Jane Seymour, and sentenced Anne to execution, accusing her of infidelity. Natalie Portman portrayed Anne in the movie named The Other Boleyn Girl.

 

Wallis Simpson

In their second encounter, while she was still married, British King Edward VIII showed his affection to the American actress, Wallis Simpson. Since, she shared his feelings, very soon after that, Edward VIII abdicated the throne just to be able to marry the actress. After his father died, he had an opportunity to become a king, but the opportunity came with obligation to end his relationship with Simpson. He refused and they lived together until his death in 1972. In the movie W.E. directed by Madonna, Simpson was portrayed by Andrea Riseborough.

 

Mata Hari

Margaretha Geertruida „Margreet“ MacLeod was a dancer, a courtesan and a spy. She was known as Mata Hari and she would choose only the richest and the most influential men to spend her time with. German intelligence recruited her during the First World War. She was sued and executed in France. Vahina Giocante portraited her in a TV series named Mata Hari.

 

Queen Victoria

People of the Great Britain loved their Queen Victoria for numerous reasons. She made her country progress, deacresed the influence of the monarchy in the lives of the common people and she could live without luxury. She had 9 children with her husband Albert. Emily Blund portrayed her in a movie called The Young Victoria.

 

Isadora Duncan

This famous dancer, wife and muse of Sergei Yesenin loved to travel and teach. In 1921, in Russia, she was given an opportunity to open a dance school, which was in time she met and married Yesenin. In 1923, they got divorced. The Dancer movie told the story of Duncan’s life, and she was  portrayed by Lily-Rose Depp.
