Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Not Going to Use the Kensington Palace Instagram Anymore

It is official now; Prince Harry and his brother Prince William are separating. They are going to have separate households. The royal family gave an official announcement about it and said that it was planned a long time ago. The brothers are going their separate ways and that means that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are not going to be associated anymore with Kensington Palace, and they are going to make Buckingham Palace their new official London headquarters.

In their new office, they are going to have their own new communications team. They’ve already gotten a new head of communications. The new head of communications is Sara Latham, and she will report directly to The Queen’s Communication Secretary, Donal McCabe.

And what about the royal family’s Instagram accounts?

Till now Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been using the @kensingtonroyal Instagram account, alongside with Prince William and Kate Middleton. So now, when they’ve cut ties with Kensington Palace, it is most likely that they won’t use that Instagram account anymore. And what account will they use? We still don’t know, but maybe their work will be shared on the Buckingham Palace’s account, @theroyalfamily. This is the account which shares all of the news about many members of the royal family. But perhaps they will get their own social media account, now that they have their own household.

We know that members of the royal family don’t have their own personal Instagram accounts, but they do have official Instagram accounts. Not every one of them, but the ones that do are, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles and they use @clarencehouse, Prince William and Kate Middleton use @kensingtonroyal, Prince Andrew uses the account @hrhthedukeofyork.

So, it is possible that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have their own official Instagram account like some other members of the royal family, because why not, now that they have a separate household. And their impact on the world is enormous, so the next logical step is for them to have their own social media account where they will share everything about their work.

The new Instagram account of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex

There is still no official announcement about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s new official Instagram account. But there are some rumors about a potential one. The new headquarters of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be at Buckingham Palace, but their new home will be at Frogmore Cottage. They will no longer live in Nottingham Cottage, at Kensington Palace.

And with that said, there are some Instagram accounts that were inspired by their new residence, Frogmore Cottage. Many accounts are fan based, but one of them stands out, and maybe that one will be the new Instagram account of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

There is an account that is called @frogmoreroyal, and it is very similar to the one they shared with Prince William and Kate Middleton, @kensingtonroyal. The accounts don’t have any photos or post, and it isn’t following anyone, so it is possible that the account is a placeholder.

It is known that placeholder accounts are mostly private until launched, but this one is not set to private. And it is common for other official royal family accounts to follow each other, but there isn’t anyone from the royal family that is following this alleged Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s new account. So we can be certain that this will be their new account, but maybe no one is following the account, because they want it to stay off the radar before they officially launch it.
