After a prolonged court ordeal, Angelina and Brad are finally divorced and she has returned to using just her last name. That means Jolie-Pit is no more and we feel that is an end of a Hollywood era. The move has left many of their fans heartbroken.
The couple started dating during the filming of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2004 and quickly became an item. It was a true romance, a movie plot came to life and Brandolina was on everyone’s lips. For 12 years, they were one of the world’s most famous couples. Then 2016 came and they split up, starting a court battle that was to determine the division of assets and more importantly, the custody over their six children.
In 2018, Brad and Angelina asked the court for a bifurcated judgment. In essence, that would allow them to get divorced while other issues would be solved later. A statement from Angelina’ spokesperson claimed that the point of such judgment was “to provide closure to the marriage in a way that clears a path toward the next stage of their lives and allows her and Brad to recommit as devoted co-parents to their children.”
Despite some harsh words exchanged during the court battle over the custody, Brad and Angelina now seem to be having a great relationship.
“Brad and Angelina have come a long way,” the source close to the couple said. “To the surprise of many of their closest friends, their communication has improved tremendously and they’re both dedicated to co-parenting. Their kids have a custody schedule and that’s made a huge difference for the whole family. The schedule has alleviated any of the planning pressures Brad and Angelina have faced in the past. Now the kids spend time with both their parents and are happy and thriving.”
It may have taken them some time, but they eventually reached a place where both can be happy and concerned only with the welfare of their children.
This, of course, does nothing to console an army of their fans who kept clinging to a hope that somehow the famous couple would get back together. Now, with Angelina dropping Pitt form her name, even such hope is gone.
