Scientists Rank Our Most Erotic Body Parts

Love & Sex

A recent study done at Bangor University and the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg studied 41 male and female erogenous zones on 800 subjects in two different continents and ranked them in terms of their level of sexual arousal. Behold, the creepy erogenous zone chart (above) illustrating the findings.

Most popular for both men and women were the genitals (duh), followed by lips, ears, inner thighs, and the shoulder blades. Coming in at the bottom of the list were feet. Try telling that to a foot fetishist. Knee caps were also found to be unpopular in the sexual arousal department. Because, when was the last time someone got excited by having their kneecaps stroked and licked? Never.

More interesting than this dehumanizing graphic, was the finding that these erogenous zone rankings were consistent regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation.

“We have discovered from this that we all share the same erogenous zones in at least two very different continents, whether we are a white middle-aged woman sitting in a London office or a gay man living in a village in Africa,” Professor Oliver Turnbull, one of the leaders of the study. “It suggests it is hardwired, built in, not based on cultural or life experiences.”

Because of the results, scientists are exploring the theory that sexual arousal is controlled by the brain instead of by our sense of touch. I don’t want to say we told you so, but WE TOLD YOU SO. Women have known this forever.
