When people think about traveling, they usually have very common plans. Most of us would prefer to visit some of the most attractive countries. This includes different destinations in the USA, France, Great Britain, Italy, etc.

However, all these destinations are not affordable to everyone. You will have to save a bit more money to visit them. Despite that, the popularity of these places is huge. To start, you will have to think in advance to grab some less expensive tickets and hotel rooms.

Yet, does this mean you won’t travel anywhere if your budget is limited?

Many people do not know a lot about Africa. This continent contains some of the most amazing places in the world. In this article, we will focus on only one African country – Tanzania.

This may sound unbelievable to you, but Tanzania currently has around 60 million citizens. As you see, the country is not small. Besides that, many people are wondering if this place is safe for them. Well, we can say it is relatively safe for tourists. If you plan to hire a travel agency to help you, then you are completely safe. Agencies like LeadWoodExpeditions organize group tours which will ensure you a wonderful experience. Despite that, you can be sure that you will be completely safe as part of the tour. Walking alone in some parts of the country is not recommended.

Anyway, you are here to find out the top places to visit in Tanzania. Our list would probably be a lot longer. Yet, we will highlight only those that are the most favorite ones.

Let’s get started.

Contents

  • 1. Mount Kilimanjaro
  • 2. Serengeti National Park
  • 3. Zanzibar Beaches
  • 4. Ngorongoro Conservation Area
  • 5. Lake Manyara National Park

1. Mount Kilimanjaro

We will start with the most popular destination. If you plan to visit Tanzania, then Mount Kilimanjaro is something you must visit. Believe it or not, the highest peak of this mountain is 5.895 meters high. People that have been here confirmed that they saw the most iconic image on the top of this mountain.

Tanzania has many National Parks. However, Mount Kilimanjaro National Park is a bit different from others. In this national park, you won’t be able to wildlife. That makes things even easier. The travelers will have the chance to climb on the mountain absolutely every moment. However, our recommendation is to do that within June and October.

2. Serengeti National Park

As we said, the previous national park is a place where you won’t be able to see wildlife. However, if you are an animal lover, then visiting Serengeti National Park is a must-do thing. Here you can find millions of animals that are trying to reach the fresh grassland.

Let’s be more precise. The most popular event that’s happening in Tanzania is wildebeest migration. Dozens of wild species are traveling from one place to another to find fields of grass. You already know that summers in Africa are quite warm. Well, because of that, the wild animals have to migrate from one place to another and adapt to the new climate. Yet, it is good to mention that bird lovers can see something amazing here as well. There is a so-called Big Five where you can see more than 500 species of birds.

Our recommendation is to visit this place between December and June, and the best experience you can have with altezza.travel. Within these couple of months, you will see the unforgettable moments of Serengeti wildlife migration.

3. Zanzibar Beaches

If you hear the name Unguja Island, then you should know that we are talking about the same place. When people come to Tanzania during the summer, they usually visit the part of the Island of Zanzibar. There are a couple of reasons why this destination is perfect for summer travelers. However, the most common one is the beautiful beaches that you can find in this place. You have probably seen the photo of the beaches on social media. Some people like to say this is Heaven on Earth.

Well, surf lovers should know one thing. Surfing is possible on this Island. Yet, it depends a lot on which side of the Island you are located. Anyway, each side of the island will ensure you soft white sand and clear shallow water.

Yet, the Stone town (a town on this island) is known as the place that contains old Arabian townhouses. Despite that, you can also see narrow alleyways and a busy port.

4. Ngorongoro Conservation Area

We will come back to the wildebeest once again because this country truly brings many opportunities associated with wild animals. This location you can find between Lake Manyara and the Serengeti. First of all, this place is famous for its volcanic Ngorongoro Crater.

Despite that, it is also an area where you can see different species of wild beasts. This includes animals such as lions, rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, etc. You can also experience some of the most entertaining bird watching here. This especially counts if you are located somewhere near Lake Magadi. If you have never seen a flamingo, then be sure you will see it here.

Finally, a beautiful view is not the only reason why you should visit this place. The place also has historical meaning. It is the largest intact ancient caldera in the world. Believe it or not, it is around 3 million years old! The Ngorongoro volcano has been the tallest mountain in the world for a long time. Yet, it collapsed and exploded and things have changed.

5. Lake Manyara National Park

Are you a fan of nature? Well, in Tanzania you can see and feel how it looks when everything around you is “green”. This national park is full of woodland, grassland, forest, and swamps. Most of the national park is covered by water. The lake itself is a home of thousands of flamingos. However, you will have to pick the right moment to see them. They are not always located in the same place.

Despite that, here you can see a huge number of tree-climbing lions, hippos, and elephants. Yet, that is not the most amazing thing about this lake. Lake Manyara National Park is the home of the largest concentration of baboons in the world.

Despite that, there are many entertaining activities that you can do here. For instance, mountain bike tours, canoeing, and bird watching are the most popular ones.

So, which of these 5 destinations seems like the most entertaining one?
