Parents are pretty much excited after welcoming their new-born child. It is the happiest moment for them. There is no match for happiness at that point in time. However, the real challenge begins right after birth. Your parenting is what matters the most and which will shape the future of your child.

A lot of parents look for different tips and suggestions when it comes to this most important role in one’s life.

Given the difficult and demanding nature of parenting in this busy day and age, here are some of the major parenting tips that you must take into account:

Contents

  • 1. Identify the child’s strength
  • 2. Avoid negative emotions
  • 3. Do not compare siblings
  • 4. Give positive attention
  • 5. Never give up on your child
  • 6. Provide your baby a healthy diet
  • 7. Read books to your kid
  • 8. Participate in physical activities together
  • 9. Less TV and screens

1. Identify the child’s strength

If you want to ensure that your child remains as confident as possible in personal and professional life, then you need to make your child realize the strengths he/she possess. It will increase their self-esteem, which enables them to tackle the different problems and issues in life. This is the parent’s responsibility from the very start. If you fail to do this task, the chances of your child being a victim of the inferiority complex are high.

2. Avoid negative emotions

This is a no brainer. It is given that every parent should avoid negative emotions as much as possible. Do not express negative emotions such as ridicule, anger and sarcasm. If your child has a certain problem and you express negative emotions to that, it will only worsen it. Use mild suggestions to treat your child. This will shape their personality better. You can consult intuitiveeltern.de for an overall better idea about it.

3. Do not compare siblings

One of the most repeated mistakes all across the globe in terms of parenting is the comparison of siblings. This can have a major negative impact. If a particular child thinks that his/her sister or brother is favored, this can create a major rivalry between them that will last for the entire life.

Make sure the kids know they are loved with equality. This will not only foster a relationship between parents and children but the siblings as well.

4. Give positive attention

Every child craves positive attention. If the children do not get positive attention, they will then seek negative attention. This can be a major problem. You must remember to communicate with your children as much as possible. There is no doubt in the fact that care and love can heal most effectively. If you think you do not have enough time, then it is of paramount importance to seek external help.

5. Never give up on your child

This is perhaps the summary of ideal parenting. Remember to never give up on your child regardless of what the circumstances are. The child’s problem can easily be worked through goodwill, humor and perseverance. With the right support, most troublesome children can become the best people out there. No matter what the conditions turn out to be, you should stick with your child at all times and be the backbone support system.

6. Provide your baby a healthy diet

It goes without saying that your baby’s diet is especially important. The way your baby eats before the age of three can have a significant impact on his/her overall IQ when it grows up. As a matter of fact, research has shown a real correlation between diet and IQ, and the data shows foods high in sugar and fat can have a negative impact on your baby’s IQ levels. On the other side, fish that contains Omega 3-fatty acids, pasta, rice, fruits, and vegetables have been found beneficial and to increase your toddle’s IQ.

7. Read books to your kid

We’ve seen it in movies, TV shows, and in cartoons that babies love hearing when mommy and daddy read to them. Reading is fun; we teach that to our children every time we open a chapter of a book. But furthermore, we teach them the language, how each letter is pronounced, and how each word sounds. When we read to our children, we teach them that it is part of life. There have been countless examples where children end up illiterate because they’ve never been red to. Research and data have shown that kids learn up to 48 million new words by the age of four. If we don’t read to them, they learn almost 4 times less.

8. Participate in physical activities together

Physical activity is what keeps us in shape, and every person, no matter the age, can benefit from it. That’s why doctors recommend you do as much physical activity with your toddlers as you possibly can. Not only do you strengthen its bones and limbs, but you also teach it to live a healthy lifestyle.

And who knows, maybe your young one will develop a love for a certain sport and become a professional.

9. Less TV and screens

As sad as it is, TV’s and smartphones have become the dominant activity in hundreds of thousands of new households in the United States. Parents don’t seem to care whether screens do good or bad for their children. It’s a way to make their babies quiet and not cry for attention, which is a terrible thing to do. However, possibly the biggest reason as to why you should immediately cut on TV and phone time is because they develop a bad habit of un-socializing. Kids that spend most of their time in front of screens have a significantly higher chance of avoiding social contact with other children in their groups. Another thing is that they also have a significant chance of falling back behind other children in language development. Yet another downside is that is damages their sight, and their brains as well. As you all know, children develop their brains from birth to age five. This is the most important time in a child’s life, and you need to nurture it properly. If the brain doesn’t develop as it should, the child will have problems in the future. TV, smartphones, laptops, and tablets can all negatively impact the development of the brain, so you need to cut back on it.
